ok i have a 96 gt want to add more hp should i go with turbo or s/c car is in good shape from what i can tell car has 112300 miles on it can i do this without much engine work or will i need to do engine mods first as i stated earlier car seams to be in a great shape mechanically. i drive it 90miles a day and no problems car had some mods when i brought it exhaust k&n filter underpulleys i dont know much about these things but want to learn bad a guy at midas told me all these mods had been made to car

you will want to take off the pulley and put back the stock ones with a power adder. The underdrives slow down the acessories including the waterpump and you want the best cooling you can get with a power adder. They both have draw backs but i think the sc is easier to live with. The turbo is more work but that extra work will pay off. you will get about 30% more power at the same boost with a turbo because of drag on the crankshaft. A turbo runs off of exhuast gasses instead of a belt so you need to money with headers. it is superior in almost every way, but you have to let it wind down before you shut off the car.

and what exactly do underpulleys do for the car and how can i tell if it has stock or other exhaust headers on the car

As I mentioned earlier Underdrive pulleys slow down your acessories liek the altenator, water pump, air. Which inturn will put less stress on the crankshaft which puts that power to the wheels instead of you altenator or water pump. which is bad when you need to cool your engine when a turbo is ramming hot air down its thoat. Its bad for same reason on a sc plus if you slowed down the sc you would make no boost.

so if he were to put underdrive pulleys on everything else and a overdrive pulley on the super charger he should get more boost right.

um. you don't want to be underdriving anything on a supercharger/turbocharged motor.

No your not hearing me, they slow Down the belt so you get less boost. my point being only use them with N/A. BTW, they also discharge you car at idle.

ok so you get overdrive pulleys for a super charger then and not underdrive pulleys. underdrive pulleys are no good for superchargers. so it would be usless to get underdrive pulleys if i were to be getting a super charger in like a couple of moths then right.

the underdrives came with his car. If he wants a power adder He needs to put the stock back.
