Hello, is there any way I can make my steering have a stiffer feel? I have a 1992 Mr2 with power steering. I remember inn my 1994, the steering was a lot stiffer and it also had power steering. Thanks in advance.

get rid of the power steering, or get some poly urethane bushings... or both!

How hard is it to do both? What all would I need to do to remove power steering? Just unplug the computer?? Where can I get the bushings and how much would they run me? Thanks for the post.

I do not like the MKII's P/S either ... last winter I had it removed from Hyde because I did not like.
You can not just unplug the p/s.
To correctly convert to manual, you will need the manual rack, the knuckle and the lower steering column.

I said you CAN NOT just unplug it.
The gearing is entirely different between the manual rack and the p/s rack.

Alright then, sorry misread the post. I read it correctly this time! How difficult is it to swap racks?

Why do it?
1. Better road feel.
2. Significant reduction in weight.
3. Less electrical draw on the alternator.

Also, where would I be able to get all needed parts for this swap? Also, what about the bushings?

You are going to have get parts from the dealer or try to find them used. I got the rack and the knuckle used and I bought the lower steering column piece from the dealer ($70).
