i have a 2000 eclipse gt (sport tronic transmission) and i was wondering if you can drop a DOHC V-tech engine? And if you can, what upgrades do i need to make sure nothing goes wrong or breaks on me? and i am also getting the blitz body kit for $330. if u know of the same kit for cheaper let me know.

You have a GT. The GT has a V-6 in it. V-tec is native to Honda. Are you referring to Mivec which Mitsubishi makes? And if this is the case I suppose you could take the engine out of the newer montero. But that has a 3.5 litre. perhaps the block is the same as your car though?

why would you want a vtech engine in a mitsubishi????? come on 4 cylinder vs 6 cylinder. instead spend your money on something useful like a turbo or s/c.

...?? 2000 eclipse gt's already have a variable valvetrain timing system. besides, the honda v-tech is overrated...your average si owner wouldn't even be able to explain what 'a' vtech is anways...
btw...good luck finding a mivec engine that you can afford.

yeah i'm pretty sure thats how it is the VVT didn't start til 2003 in the eclipse models GTS
BTW if your going to swap a motor, dont' go w/ honda go w/ nissan, spend 8k onthe RB26 motor spend another 8k getting a custom drivetrain made andother 4k on a new transmission to get it to work, buy and program and ECU for it 3k ther you just spend 23k dollars on a car that retailed for that much when you bough it............
go get a turbo
