IM gonna start a custom scooter but i need som ideas. I have a 2-stroke 5 hp engine. It is unfortunately a lawnmower engine so it doesn't have a clutch and seeing as I want this thing to last a while does neone have any ideas on where to find an inexpensive clutch. I thought about buying one from my go-kart catalog but they were like 120$ more than the whole thing will probably cost finished.

$120 for a clutch? What are you getting? Like a stage 3 racing clutch?

i have a go cart with a Honda V-65 magna 1100cc motor on the back of it. 6spd manual tranny. talk about hauling ass, the thing has so much power i can get a good view of the sky if i really get on it. there is nothing like spinning the tires throwing a rooster of gravel while your front tires are about 3 feet off the ground
if anyone is looking to build a go cart i suggest using a motorcycle motor and tranny, just cause they are so fun. i have a 82 honda 650 turbo bike that i was gunna rob the motor from until i found out they were collectors, so if anyone finds one that is smashed up. use that motor! seein its already turbocharged

jake, i have a go kart frame with an old snowmobile motor. How much does a motorcycle engine cost? and how hard is it to get onto a go kart frame?

No it is a clutch for my Rotax cart and they do cost $120. That is the sickest scooter i've ever seen. whered u get the turbo from? Plus i dont want a 6spd go kart. I need sumthin i can drive to school on but i want it small enough so it will fit on the sidewalk so i dont have to worry about it being street legal. Cops in my area have nothing better to do than bust kids with go-peds. I was going to use a motorcyle tranny cept id pick just one gear oviously. Thinking of what type of tire to use cuz i cant use a motorcycle wheel cuz its too big and cant use like mini cooper tires because they will be impossible to drive on
