replacing Taurus 3.0 Dura with a 3.0 OHV

Can some one tell me if I can replace a Taurus 3.0 Dura engine with a 3.0 OHV and what will I need to change.

why would you? the duratec is known for a great motor, if i didnt anything to upgrade the thing i would use a new 3.0 duratec block with a 2.5 svt contours head and cams

The reason is I have an extra 3.0 OHV motor and a Taurus that has a bad Dura motor. nothing personal aginest Dura engine.

You would have to change everything from you computer to your coolant resevoir,wiring harness , hoses, etc.
I would try to sell the vulcan and buy a duratec. I think you would be ahead in the long run.
Contingent on miles you could probably sell the vulcan for 5 to 600.00
and give 7 to 800.00 for a used duratec.
I guess it could be done but I wouldn't want to tackle the job.

yeah a Vulcan isnt that great of a motor. If its just that you want the car running and you happen to have a Vulcan then go for it, but it wouldnt be as great a car.
