I was going 145mph but then saw cop slammed my brakes and then my radar went off and by the team he clocked me I was at 92mph and my cousin in his 300zx turbo was going 155mph and he dosent have a radar and he saw me slamming my brakes so he slowed down with me, but the funny thing is that he dident now when the cop clocked us and he thought that the cop got him when he was going 155mhp, and he later on told me that he was about to piss him self LOL. But by suprise he was a cool cop and he gave both of us 70 in 60. I think he let us go because it was like 2:30 a.m. and it was my birthday. Ya what a good time to get a $150 ticket on your birthday. But I am happy beause i thought I was going to jail that night.
So how fast have you been with your car and did u get ticket or what was the biggest ticket you got with your VR-4?????

I do not condone running from the cops, mainly because I do not know where you live, how many cops are in your area, your driving skills, etc.
But my question is, how fast do you think a cop car goes, because unless it was a vette, stang, or camaro there is no way he can do 155. The fastest I have been going when i pulled over is 20 over, 55 in a 35. I will not go over 100 without full intention of running if I see a cop.

Think they're cameras can get your plates if you ran going that fast?

if it happens again, just step on it!
if he can't keep up with you at 145, he certainly can't keep up with you at 165! :D

dont underestimate some of the highway patrol cars, they will stay up with you. They have an extra overdrive gear that is extremely long for when they need to use it, can, and will stay up with you. I've seen a situation before when a corvette Z06 was trying to outrun them at 200 mph, and the highway patrol cars were just sittin there piggy backing him at 200 and was just sittin there saying "i wonder when he will decide to just give it up"

Yeah you think they're slow because their gears a set for top speed, not acceleration...so while you start to lose power at 120-130, they're gaining it. They don't need acceleration because the turns on the road take care of that, and once you go for highway they can keep up, call the Camaro SS cop or call for air support (where I live anyway). So the only time you can get away is if the cop is sitting still when you blow by doing 150 MPH and get out of sight (go around a curve) and disappear so they can't radio ahead, but it's all luck. I've hid from a few cops that pulled 180's to get me, but my friend tried it and the cop pulled his gun on him when he caught him.

150 vs an SRT-4. The speedo was probably a little off though.

I've never tried to run from a cop (and I don't intend to) but I had my 94 in the 160ish range and the Spyder only into the 120s. Something to keep in mind thoug, our speedometers are not wholely accurate above 110 or so.

that's right because a cousin of mine, he lives in San Diego, CA and he is a cop and I asked him and he said that the average top speed of a cop car is 200 to 220 mph w/out the overdrive gear and around 325hp

in the 4 months that i'v owned my VR4 i'v never really gone past 85, never had the oppertunity, cops around here will pull you over for goin 8 over if your car is anywhere close to sporty and the slightest hint of modification. and i'm 16, so i'd be screwed anyway. but i have however gone around 108 in my moms toyota tacoma :)

95% of all cop cars top speed does not exceed 160mph
exept for the camaro cop cars

it takes around 500whp to reach 200mph, unless the cop had a vette, he was lieing to you about going 200. caprices do about 140-150, less with a light bar, impalla are around 130, less with a light bar.

Whats the limiting factor for hte VR4? Gearing, Friction, or available power? I realize that friction and power are related.

drag is the limiting factor of the vr4, the more power you get the faster you go.

holy shizz 150 i wish i had the time and gas to get there. I live on kauai, shitty roads, choke cops, everyone knows eachother, lots of turns, the long streches are on the west side which is far a way from where i live well like 40 minutes but the fastest ive been was like 130 by our tree tunnel wich is pretty knarly haha. It was funny i brougt my friend for a ride and we were going like 115 in 3rd gear and he was tripping cuz like all hondas over here.

I forget the gearing on the 5spds...but I've heard the 6 spds are geared up to around 230mph...but you would need inordinate amounts of power to get it up there...

as far as pontentiality...stock/bpu cars have been claimed between 160-180ish
to run 200, I'm guessing 550hp at the crank...but that is just a guess, might be more.
