I can get a deal on a set of 16x7 wheels with a postive 37mm offset to put on my ride, but they weigh close to 24lbs without tires! Is that too much? They are OZs and brand new so I know they are quality but that seems a little heavy to me. Am I wrong? Also if I drop my car 1.5-1.75inches will the offset be cool?

just to let you know....

factory offset is 45+ on the 99 civic....

and most people lowered rub a little with a 40+ offset...

IMO 16" wheels shouldn't wiegh more than 20 pounds....

The lightest weight 16" I've found in the shops near me is 15 lbs. (cost $250 each). Is there anything lighter than that? If so, I want one!!!:D

I've seen Volk Racing rims that weigh less than that.
but they're going to cost you an arm, a leg, and a testicle though.

Volk Racing TE37
About 11 lbs. for the 16"
Get them here: http://www.upgrademotoring.com/wheels/te37.htm

What is most impressive is that they're forged aircraft aluminum! But $465.00 is pricey. My stock DMC rims are 22lbs rear and 20 lbs front. Buying the TE37's calculates to a 49 pound weight reduction for $1860 + shipping. I think I'll find a less costly area of the car to reducew weight in...

If you're really serious:

or

http://www.forgeline.com/

STARTING at $621 a pop and it only goes up from there. :)

Well...I dunno if this is accurate data but I ordered my wheels from out of state. So I have them delivered by fedex. When I tracked it, it shows on fedex computer that total weight is 52 lbs. And I ordered 18x7.5 wheels plus the tires 215/35/18 already mounted plus the lugs plus the boxes.
But I never check with the manufacturer though....they're really not good at customer service hehehe...

52/4 = 13 lbs per wheel+tire? I don't think so.

Haha...
well, I'd appreciated if anyone can check the weigh on my wheels for real. I tried sending Email to momousa and they're a b**ch in replying Emails :D
But the wheels are pretty light for sure compared to my 14" stock... (I tried lifting both but with tires already mounted though....and you know how thick stock tires are => 60 !!!)
