ok this is whats going on...some Asshole T boned my 91 Celica GTS :disappoin ...and im getting some money back from the insurance...$2900 to get it fixed...still have the car...(car with out rims is only worth $2500 so im banking on this)(there giving me $400 for one fucked up rim. which is fixable)...im going to be taking my 18" wheel and tires off and putting the stockers back on the car. The money i get for my wheels and tires im putting into my 240...so roughly $800 or so. whats a good path...im thinking two ways...#1 suspension...get front and rear sway bars and strut braces (i think theres to much sway in my car). or #2 Power...get a boost controller (probably greddy profec B) and an Air/fuel controller (probably the apexi S-AFC)...anyone else see anything else i could do or better products the what i've picked...as you can see by what i have already i dont need any cooling...only other option i see is possibly a LSD...what would be a good one to get?

LSD or power. I'm not much for road courses or Autox. Maybe a turbo upgrade?

well...did some number matching on my SR20 and found out its a redtop...(if you've been following previous posts, i originally was told its a black top with a red top cover...found out its not...so it has the T25 turbo...what would be a good turbo upgrade? I know i can probably get a good used T28..which is the same flange right? for pretty cheap probably...but then if i did that i would want a boost controller and the S-AFC anyways...so maybe i'll wait on the turbo upgrade till spring

Also i live in South Dakota right near the black hills. so i have alot of bendies around me...not just that i also have a 87 formula firebird with the WS6 package (really still suspension, no sway at all) so im kinda use to that...really nice car to drift in...the 240 with all the sway makes it alot more difficult to drift in...(for me personally) maybe its a setup thing...i like no sway.

The blacktop has small lines on front of the head running vertically. The T28 would make slightly more power at lower boost. Your stock fuel setup should be good to about 240-250hp IIRC. Don't hold me to that. If no turbo, then a boost controller. Turn the boost up to about 14psi. Get a fuel pump too.

I already have the walbro 255lph installed...thats something thats not in my sig...and also i heard the highest boost on the t25 is 12psi...or something of the nature...maybe it was with the stock injectors...

lol, I think you need a few more votes before you can make a good decision. Right now there are 2 votes for engine upgrades. 100% of the votes go to engine upgrades! Woohoo! :)

sway bars
cheapy strut tower bars off ebay
aluminum subframe spacers
Do luck cross bar(goes on floor behind front seats)
that should take up your 800 and stiffen up the chassis a shitload
OR
find a cheap deal on some coilovers... can be had for 800 lately look at other threads here
thats what I would probably do after reviewing your spring and strut combo more carefully, Eibachs aren't stiff and your shocks might be the weak cheaper models. In any event that would be better then adding sway bars and the like, if you had any money left over after you found a cheap seat of coilovers I would buy some cheap ebay strut tower bars next.

I believe the stock T25 loses efficiency past 14-15 psi. 12 sounds pretty safe so go with that.

there's 2 ways you can look at this.. don't even consider the lsd, as long as the one you have now isn't broken then you'll be fine.. 1) get the boost controller and safc, for me, i'd feel much more comfortable with them 2) get the stance right.. i know its already dropped but how stiff it is is another thing.. the d2 coilovers that were discussed in mynismo's thread for $800, not bad at all..
even with only 5 votes so far, i'll put my money on 90% of people going with engine mods

BTW get an LSD!!!!! LSD!!!!!
u have a RWD car man how could u drive it with open diff, u will understeer on turns(gay)(trust me i thats why i crashed) , pigleg on the streight aways... i have LSD now, KAZZ 2way and its good!
i can beleve that no one stronglly advised u on the LSD. it makes the bigest difference. improves the car all around. (don't get VLSD, please...get the real thing!)

i would say electronics for the safety issues...but it sounds like it runs ok without them. If you really want to stiffen up the ride, then stiffen it up. Do what sr20detpower said, unless you want coilovers. But that do-luck rxb bar or whatever its called also adds sexiness points..........but the lsd will help you grip better also around the turns, so i dont know its pretty much what you think will make you more happy as far as the results on if your money was well spent. Nice ride by the way.

thanks for the nice ride kudos...i was asking you guys because i need something to tip the scale...because im in a quandry...i love handling...i love power...and i love 2 wheels a blazin...basically im asking your opinions...to see what seems like a wiser choice...becuase the boost controller isnt a huge thing...but i seriously want the safc becuase i dont trust my turbo timers readings. but if i get the safc...i figure i might as well get the boost controller...and since AWDSR20 said that his understeered really bad because the shitty stock lsd...and mine understeers bad...maybe i should get the LSD...or suspension...so im trying to get ideas from u guys...asking this only helps make my decision more solid

understeering on s13's is more of a suspension thing....
if u can't get a car to oversteer with an open diff you got probs, i can drift a stock 240sx pretty wild.....
the LSD appears to improve the oversteer effect because its sending more power to the wheels in corners and pushes the rear end through the corner, which can make you spin out easier........
I would highly suggest you get some coilovers as your next mod... leave the power where its at now, its acceptable for the time being, with a lot better chassis you will be able to use the power more effectively.
I don't see how you could consider anything else if you truly like cornering, and are already complaining about your suspension... its the logical choice.

What were you doing driving a Celica if you have a 240?!!?!

if you dont have LSD definitely get it!! i dont have one and want one bad because the one wheel wonder crap just doesnt do it for me lol... Just get an LSD off a J30 those are good because its more like a family car and chances are the LSD is still in very good condition and not with alot of miles, with the 240 LSDs (same as J30) it might have been smashed and who knows what... you can pick one of these up at a junk yard for about $225... i found 3 here for about same price... or you can check on ebay as well... OH... by the way dont get an LSD from J30 that is a 95 model or lower... those have different flanges...
also might as well get that speedo thats broken haha,
and get sway bars , you can definitely afford those for about $200 or so... have fun

I agree with SR20DETpower. I have heard of some really cheap strut bars snapping. You can get pretty good ones for about $200(F&R). You can really base your decision based upon your interest.

need LSD period. 2 way will make tht tiers sqweek when reversing out of a parking spot, and u will crash if u let go of the gas exiting the freeway. u will need to keep the gas as u exit. all i could say, with LSD the car is a whole lot more fun to drive.
BTW i can get the back to come out with the open diff, its just not important to me. what is, is my ability to ack turns well , and not get stuck when one wheel lifts up (exiting my garage!)

as for Silvia Scoundrel's question..i had the 240sx in the garage because i was doing some stuff to it (fuel pump, and checking out my speedo)I only had the car 3 days before my celica accident. and im thinking im probably going to stick with my stock lsd becuase i can drift with it fine and everything...that'll just have to be a spring project.
