Grinding noise

I have a JDM B16A Sir1 V2 swap in my 89 Civic standard hb. I've been driving it for 3 months now and just noticed this grinding type noise that sounds like it's coming from the distributor or my radiator hoses. I took the cap off and the rotor looked fine. I also noticed a couple weeks ago that there was a puddle of antifreeze under my car. But that only happened once and it hasn't been there since. What could be wrong? Is it coming from my hoses or distributor? Thanks for any help.

wut side of the car was the coolant puddle under? r u sure it isn't the tranny? any noises from the timing belt side of the motor? how does it idle, how about run, hard acceleration, deceleration? does the noise change? metal to metal kind of grind, plastic to metal, plastic to plastic, rubber to metal, etc? it helps if u r overly detailed, so that certain other things can be ruled out.

lol, yeah that looks bad, but i didn't mean the leak coming from the tranny, but the noise coming from the tranny.

yeah i thought water pump too, but the sound is coming from the wrong side of the motor. that's y i asked wut side the puddle was on.

i guess we gotta wait and see if all the q's get answered, so we can get a better idea.

I doubt because the waterpump is on the other side.
prolly, his throwout bearing because mine is shot too and it makes the same grinding noise until i disengage the clutch.
coolant issue may not be related but inspect your lower radiator hose and neck too, the oem ones are known to spring leaks around that area esp on lowered cars because of bumping into parking curbs or speed-bumps. All metal radiator is the way to go if you're going to replace the radiator.
