Need Some Help Please 1995 Buick Century

I need some help! I just purchased a 1995 Buick Century with 38,000 miles. It is a 3.1, V6. I replaced the wires, plugs vacuum hoses and the EGR valve. I still get a vibration at steady 70 MPH . If I accerlate a little bit the vibration gets worse. If you hit the gas a little harder, the vibration goes away. If I take my foot off the gas it goes away, as soon as I hit the gas again the vibration returns. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? It otherwise runs fine. I am not familiar with code letters for sensors. Thanks to anyone who can help!!!!

Out of curiosity, why did you replace these parts? Ws it because the car vas vibrating and you thought this might cure it? Is the 'service engine' light on?

Thanks for answering! The check engine light has not come on. I just felt the vibration and started replacing what I thought it could be. So far nothing worked. Next I will check the coil. And then trying cleaning the injectors. I am rrunning out of ideas. Thanks again to anyone who can help!

The suspects would be a bad motor mount, rebalance the tires, bad CV joint, none of the item you have replaced. Good Luck.

Also could be inner/outer tie rod ends, which are very important. Suggest you take it to a shop, many give a free diagnosis. A vibration is usually tires/ suspension problem. Tell us what it was when you find out. Also if suspension is okayed I'd rotate the tires front to back before buying new ones.

Thanks for the advice! When the car is idling you can hear a misfire from the exhaust pipe. Number 4 spark plug is a light tan in color. I am thinking, maybe a clogged fuel injector. Had the car to the shop! Front end is tight. THe steering wheel does not shake, the dashboard does. Thanks again!!! I"ll keep you updated.

try cleaning the MAF sensor, my engine in my 95 was running rough I changed loads of parts and then cleaned the MAF sensor and the engine started running great again, try it you never know.

Thanks for the advice! I need to know where is the MAF sensor and what is it's purpose. Thanks. I balanced the tires and the front end is tight, I even changed the coils. I will try anything to get this car to run right. Thanks again!

the MAF sensor is on top of the engine on the righthand side just after the air filter 4 small screws hold it onto the inlet manifold and it has a wire plug going into it, unplug it and pull it out, be carefull because it is a little delicate clean the small sensors with carb cleaner or rubbing alcohol using a paper towel to wipe them clean, then put it back and try it. Oh the MAF sensor mesures the air flow going into the inlet manifold so the computer can deliver the right amount of fuel for combustion, (I think).

Could it be you have a tire out of balance? Just a thought. :2cents:
