Antifreeze leaking

I just flushed out my antifreeze and a week later i got a puddle of it under my car. The puddle is like right behind the passengers side wheel. The only thing i can think of is the water pump is bad. Also, my low coolant light is on but this came on right after i changed the fluid. What could be wrong?

I'm no mechanic, but here is my experience with this problem so far. I have a 96 Grand Am GT 3.1 v6. I had a leak, changed the water pump(with help from my mech. bro), still had a leak. My other brother, who has been a GM mechanic for 20 or so years says a common problem is intake gasket leaks, and it is in the same spot you described to me. I used some bars leaks(available at auto zone, wal mart,....) and it helped for months, but now I am leaking again. I gotta get it fixed, but I got other problems with my other car.

Anyone know if putting more bars leaks in would hurt or help?

You know, I'm gonna get 2 bumperstickers that say my other car is junk and put one on each of my cars.

Grandam- It sounds like you over-filled the reserve tank and when it reached normal operating temp it expelled the extra which dripped down the wheel well. I have done this myself and if you check the radiator when the engine is cool if its up to the top when you remove the cap this is most likely the cause.

sikman- Never ever ever put anything in any part of your car that goes in as a powder and hardens. It might be a quick fix but will end up causing more problems than it will fix. Also some research under the car will most likely reveal the cause of the leak 99% of the time it is from a loose or broke fastener.

Well im gonna take it in too be looked at any ways. I looked at the water pump and it was kinda wet around there. If you say it releases it does it usually spray out or just drip out. I looked at the overflow tank and it was the same height as the day i filled it which was about 3 weeks ago so i might of overfilled it. Thanks for the tip tho!

I also looked for a cap on my radiator and couldn't find one! Does anybody know where its at on the 95's??

I know you 'shouldn't', but I had to. Just one of those times you have to.

There is no radiator cap on that as far as I know. Mine has none. The only access to fill and check the levels are in the coolant tank right on top passengers side of engine. Lemme know what your's was.

Man its the waterpump did they use the blue crap when they put it in or Indian Head.Thos egaskets can curl up on you also.
NEVER use stop leak stuff, how does it know what holes NOT to plug up.My boss at autozone use to love when I'd talk kids out of using that stuff.(I said never but i have had an emergency where I have, just crossed my fingers and went for it stuck in the desert)

Well i did take it in and the water pump was a piece. The barrings or wut ever is in there were torn up to crap. Now everything works perfect..
