Oil Pressure

Got another APC gauge the other day and finally got around to installing it. The gauge hook up... no problem. The only problem is is that there is a sender unit, a big gold colored thingy that has a wire connector on the top of it, and a nut-bolt thing with a hole on the other side. Where exactly does this go. Someone said maybe I have to drill a hole in the oil pan. I'd rather not do that. Any suggestions. If you need a pic of the sender Ill post one. Thanks
