Dont even get me started on how much of a joke Wyotec is... I've heard of UTI but it's never appealed to me, besides i'm going to end up at the GM training program at ICC in Peoria IL when i get my associates. I recommend a specific area of training if you want to get far in today's auto world/or technical for that matter.

I know a couple of people that went there.
Two of my friends were in the HVAC program and they say that the school really doesn't give two shits about is students. They did have the proper training to enter the field though.
Another friend went for the NASCAR Tech program, he got half way into it before he found out that even if you do have a sponsor, you still pretty much need to know someone enter the field.

LMAO!!! I thought the same thing! I was gonna say "they have medicine for that, you know" :)
my brother almost went to UTI in Phoenix, but then he dropped out of school and got arrested, so no school for him! but he took a tour of it and he really liked what he saw.

Hi, Yes heard of it ,My son went there for 16 months ,learned some but most of what of it he already knew from me , and they said they would help him find work ,DON'T belive it ,thats BS he is ASE Certified and still has to find his own jobs , The only good thing I can say about them is they do give you a lot of hands on work, which is good if you haven't done it before, So its not something I would recomend, But to each his own, Good luck Slim ASE certified Retired.

I went to UTI in Phoenix in '78-79. It is a very good automotive school.
I also went back through in '87-88 after getting out of the army. It was free except for the books. I wanted to get a refresher before going back in the auto repair field. The school is only as good as you make it. If you go to class and don't absorb the info, and then party afterwards, then it won't matter what school you go to. But, if you put 100% towards learning, and push the instructors for knowledge, then it will be well worth it. Get as much hands on as you can. Don't expect to be a master tech and know everything. The automotive field in getting more and more technical. Being able to find the info needed, and able to understand it, is an important step in repair. Also, you need a lot of patience.
