I was wondering if you guys knew where the computer to a '97 Eclipse GS was located? Also, do you know how to hook up a computer to pull the codes off the car? Thanks guys. :)

I believe all 2g NT ECUs are in the engine bay, I want to say drivers side, but I'm no NT expert ;)

Drivers side right in front of the battery, next to the intake.

2nd question, does anyone know how to hook up the tester to pull the codes from it? Because AutoZone won't help us but will let us use it. :o/

it's underneath the dash. if you were sitting in the car it would be right above your right knee. you plug the scanner in there and then read the codes. the car also has a way of reading codes right from the car itself. i think you turn the key on, off, on, off, on, off, and then on and leave it on and watch the check engine lite. it should blink in certain patterns: for example say the codes are 12 & 27, it will blink once, pause, and 2 faster blinks and then a longer pause and then it will blink twice, short pause and then blink 7 times. take it to a shop and have them look on the computer (the internet at your house might work too) for those codes and that should tell you the problem.

Whoa, thanks gthompson97, I'll try that little "trick" when I get off work tonight. If I don't get it to work, then I'll take it to AutoZone to run the check. So I just plug 'em right in, right? Okay cool. Does anyone here know the codes mean when I get 'em? Thanks guys...I'll post when I get some information about it. Finally getting somewhere with this problem. :)

mitsubishi/eagle run a chrysler engine in the non-turbo eclipses. these are the exact same codes as most other chrylser engines. here's a website that tells you what each code means
http://www.misterfixit.com/moparcod.htm
it also tells you on there how to access the codes if you want to print it off or something. let me know how it turns out.

Okay, sorry I haven't posted recently because just before I was going to go out there and do the test run, my sister goes and loses her keys as well as her remote to the car which has an alarm and the ignition kill feature. As a result, we could not get in there to run the test.
Anyways, today when I did it, I got a 12, 31, and a 55. I don't know why there was a 12 because we haven't disconnected anything (computer or battery). 55 (end of codes) I'm assuming that that just means that it's the end. So 31 is probably the problem: "Bad evaporator purge solenoid circuit or driver." Does anyone have any idea what it's talking about and how to fix it? I don't have an Eclipse so I'm not familiar with it. Thanks guys.
I may still take it to AutoZone for a check as well but I don't see where the plugs for the computer would go in at. Everything was closed up....unless if I'm looking at the wrong area. The thing that I thought was the computer was in the engine bay but gthompson97 said that it's under the dash. If it's under the dashboard inside the car then I missed it. Help!?! :o/

the OBD II connecter (what you plug the code tester into in underneath the dash... likke was said previously... right in front of your right knee if you sitting in the car.
the ECU (computer) is in the engine bay by the air box (intake). its located right behind the fuse box. it's mounted on its side vertically and has to big what will look like black wires running to it.

I think he's just talking about the OBD II connector. Nothing about the ECU.
The OBD II connector (plug for the scan tool) will be directly underneath the dash on the driver's side. You can't miss it! You will see (2) connectors close together, one of them is the OBD II connecter.
Right beneath the dash - right side corner.
