Body mod questions

Ok,

First I was wondering, what kind of glue or double sided tape do I need if I want to put something on the trunk of my truck? I picked up a XL logo for five bucks at a local show, and I want to put it next to the Yukon and make it a sleeper. I like how the XL logo makes it look on the back.

Question 2: I plan on buying the rain guards. I want to paint them white so it matches the body of my truck. Do I need to have someone paint it for me or can I buy them and do it myself? I want that glossy paint look not just a flat white. What do I need? Should I have someone do it?

Thanks guys, just took a trip with the Denali, love it! My dad and I took turns driving and watching movies in the back and playing PS2!:grinyes:

Question #1: You will need a good 2-sided tape for the logo. It can't be real thick or it will stand out farther than your factory emblem. I recommend 3mm adhesive. That is what most of the factory stuff is put on with.

Question #2: I recommend having a paint shop spray your rain guards for you so they can match the color with your factory paint code. Good Luck!!!

The 3M stuff is the way to go. You'll want to strip the area of wax first, then install the emblem. Afterward, follow up with wax all around it.

If you're going to paint the rain guards - and haven't bought them yet - go with the clear ones and have the insides painted. The shop will use adhesive promoter instead of primer. Not only will the look be awesome, but you'll never have to worry about chips or other paint damage.

Take care,
Jerry
