Well folks,
Here comes another "too cheap to shop it" backyard mechanic that has reached his wits end. I have a 91 PA and have to replace the front axle to save both of my CV Joints and am now dealing with a rear shock issue. It looks like i put a six inch lift to the rear of my car. It looks ridiculous but i have searched for the accuator, to turn it down, but have so far been unable to locate. The shocks are only 1 1/2 yrs young so i dont think replacement is necessary but i think that i overloaded the suspension and it never came back.......HELP ME PLZ!!!!!!!

hi,
well if you mean you have a dynaride suspension problem.. that works with a compressor and automatically levels the back en d of the car if you add or remove weight.
there isin't any actuator for this.. unless you do like me and put one
the compressor is in front beside the engine...i got one in my PA 92.. all you have to do to make it lower is unplug the small air hoses that hook up on it.. it will lower slowly.. very slowly. i had a trouble with the module controlling this feature and tryed to fix it.. but at 650$ CDN at the dealer, i thought "no way" and scrap yard dont have nay so.. i install ed a switch under the dash to make it level myself.. and its alright like it is...
there are 4 wires... 2 for the electric motor for pumping air in the shocks, and 2 for the valve soleinoid..for purging the air out.. I.E. lowering the car
the suspension module is under the car to the left side near the fuel tank and is hooked up on a small "arm" thats hooked up on the suspension..thats how it knows how the car is.. low or high... it must use some kind level meter in it.. i haven't opened one up yet.
i unplugged it in the front under the hood.. right beside the airfilter there is a black plug with 4 wires i believe... thats where i modified mine.
hope this helps.

Thanx deadring i am on vacation til moday and im going to take a look today i hope that i understand everything correctly......once i put the bypass switches on then i should be able to let the shocks down manually? I hope there is not a special switch that is required. I will try lowering the shocks first via the line by the pump but if it pumps back up ill put the bypass on .....thanx man im already glad i joined this forum u rock

no problem man :)
there isin't a bypass switch, you install one yourself if you feel the leveling module doesn't work or malfuntion..fisrt thing you need to do is unplug the 4 wires that connet the air compressor and release valve. its a black plug next to the winshield washer tank..thats where the compressor is anyway so you can't miss it.
then look around the compressor.. you should see alteast 2 air hoses that are VERY small..smaller the size of a drinking straw and there black. unhook them one by one until you find the one thats letting OUT air... this will DEFLATE the shocks to a reasonable level....my box is busted so i know..but mine wasn't inflating so i had to install a switch ( the bypass switch you think of) under the dash or anywhere you like ( i didn't want mine to be visible). take a voltmeter and set it on OHMS... then check out the plug thats ON the motor ( duh) and check for contuinity with a little ohm..the one witht he LEAST ohm ( or resistance in ohms) is the motor.. the other is a electric coil that when you put 12 volts on it, you oiopens a valve that lets go the air out so it gets the suspension lowered.
the best way if to try it out.. take a some wires and hooked them on the battery and test it out..you'll see what i mean..
if you are to install a switch like i did.. get one that has a spring return.. not one thats stays ON.. so you won't forget it open by accident and blow out the shocks or something ( murphy's law) and get the battery discharged. the switch cost about 10$
get a swtich that has to sepertate poles and a comon poole.. like one with 6 places to put wires.. if you know what i mean.. and it needs to be spring return.. in other words, you push it to one side and hold for putting air into the shocks, and then let go.. and you push it the other way to let air out and lower the suspension to your likings, and let got the switch...
now thats about simple as i can explain it..
if you need anything just reply.. i come here often.
oh and you wont need the tother plug, the one thats comes from the leveling module.. so tape it and put it in a corner...or do like i did ... cut the plug coming FROM the balcbox - module - thingy and cut it about 4-5 inches long and connect your wires there.. and then plug it in the other plug.. much easier that way
