Gear / Shift lever

I have a rouge jeep (fiberglass jeep body) on a raised beetle running gear and have a problem with it that I cant sort out. The linkage rod from the gear/shift lever to the gearbox came off from the lever. After quite a battle, I put it back but it keeps just dropping off. I must be missing a part for this. From what I can see, the lever has a pint with a spring in the bottom and this needs to fit into the cup of the link rod with the pin sticking through the split in the cup but the pressure of this pin and spring, does not seem to be enought to keep it together. From what I can find out on the net, there should also be a nylon bush and a clip to keep it in place. Anyone who can help here.
