So I'm coming home from Carls Jun. and red Z06 with black polished lip wheels and LOUD exhaust turns in front of me. He guns it into the next lane and I kinda pull up besides him. He gives me a smile, and I give him back one thats even bigger. Anyhow, fate has it that we both end up at a red light at a straight road :biggrin: . We both know that it has to be done, so when it turns green, he doesnt even launch, I launch, and before i get into second gear, hes already at least 3 car lengths ahead of me. By the time I hit third it was 2 buslengths or so. We keep on goin on the same road and I slowly pull up besides him and he slows down and gives me a honk. I guess that meant for me to honk it off (from 35 or so), so I did just that. Thrid honk and I start accelerating and he just flat peels out with his rear end whipping to the right and ones he regains traction just takes off and shuts down about 3-4 buslengths ahead with a nicely sized puff of fire from his exhaust. Before I could catch up and ask him what he had done to his Z06, he had turned into another street, and I just went home smiling with cold fries and chicken sandwiches cause I have missed my turn by a LOT. But, I suppose it was worth it i guess...those Z06's - that was a close one, but next time he wont be so lucky! :evillol: .

With 4 grand worth of mods you can get your car to run in the 12s. Then you'll have a chance

lol yeah next time for sure man. But its always fun to watch a fast car kick your ass.

I still liked the time I raced that Viper with the blower in it. It was so loud, I couldnt hear my car redlining it or anything. But getting killed by cars that have twice your HP or so is an honor.

z06's are awesome, man I want to race one just for fun to see those things take off. I always see them when I'm with friends or in my truck. I was with some friends gettin' ready to go off roadin' and there was a blue z06 with a super charger, man that thing took off so fast. It was great! :iceslolan Got a question: A friend of mine has a 2000-2003 Mustang GT (don't remember exact year) but he got headers, full exhaust, and off-road xpipe with gutted cats and ran a 13.7 on street tires. He now has some drag radials (street legal) and a 125 wet shot, I was just wondering what he would run. I'm guessing 12.5? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

w/o N20: i'd say 13.4


w/N20: is it even tuned for nitrous? like a custom chip or anything? If not then i'd say 13.0, if it IS tuned for it then possibly a 12.8. Just my opinion though.

Honestly where do people get the idea that the zo6's run 10's. They are fast, but not that fast. With a kick ass driver, that has been racing the new vettes since they have came out, I have seen 12.96 stock. Now before everyone starts in on the car and driver quotes and what not, this is what I have seen so, back off the magizine times.

Vettes are not very good in a qtr mile race. The IRS is great for corners, but not for acelleraton. Same reason why the supercharged cobras don't have fast ET's. they lay down wiked MPH but the IRS unloads weight under acelleration and since it is IRS, it is almost impossible to run sticky tires. I have seen a modded 03 cobra run a 12.20@124 MPH. That MPH will have him in the 10's if he did not have IRS

that sucks, I put 4000 into my tsi and i run 12.7
i still cant wait to find a vett to see what i can do to one.
all i seem to find is stangs and some z28's.

OK honestly, I am not bashing your car at all, I was just a bit suprised. So please don't take offence to it. 12.7 is extremely respectable for a street car.

i see what your saying but i payed 3000 for it and droped a grand on dump stuff and i didnt get an afpr so its just dumping fuel in, one of my buddys got the same set up as me but hes got a act2100 and a afpr and he runs low 11's

Next time come over to my house and borrow one of my cars, then you'll beat him and make it home it time to have some hot food.
