question for Boschmann

I read a comment by you on a leak at the back of the motor of the heater hose. I'm losing coolant at the back of the motor, but not enough to over heat the motor. The only way I noticed the loss was the coolant is spraying on the exhaust pipe and I smelled something burning. You stated that the hose get small cracks from the heater core. Sorry, forgot 2001 Passat with 1.8 AUG motor

I'm not sure what that comment was about. If there's a leak back there it probably is one of the heater hoses. Otherwise look at the plastic coolant flanges where the hoses attach to the cylinder head.
