ok I have a 1999 5 speed manual mustang and my mom has a 2003 mustang. Hers is a auto both are v6's neither of them have mods.

99 and 2003 are the same hp/tq, shes weights a tad mor for having an suto and yo have a big gain on her for having a 5spd. If you don't win, never drive a sports car again.

on the weight does it matter if hers is a convertible and mine is a hard top

convertibles weigh a good bit more than hard tops, and lack in chassis stiffness. the extra stiffness of a hardtop means more horsepower is transmitted to the ground.

i've changed my mind based on this... unless you can't drive a 5spd worth shit, you should take it. seems like a silly race to me =)

it kinda is a dumb race because both r stock but we wanted to see whos was faster before we modifed them and i can drive a manual descent

LOL that's mean!! I'm not a pro either with the stick, so I know a really good driver with a V6 would smack me even though I have the V8.

If you have a GT coupe 5 speed against a v6 auto vert, you should easily kill the 6. Even on your first day driving stick.

5 speed are faster than autos, coupe are faster than verts. I wonder who sould win. do a v8 swap and be done with it.

Maybe you got me confused for the original poster? It clearly says in my sig that I have a 95 GT which by now everyone should know is the V8 model. My car is in the avatar also.
