Have a 92 Sport Cherokee, manual, cllutch pedal no longer works to engage gears, basically just went, now stays pushed in, doesn't come back out unless pulled by hand out, hope someone can tell me if my problem lies in the tranny itself or perhaps i hope somewhere outside i can get at without having to remove the tranny
thanx

Mike does you jeep have a hydraulic clutch in it. Look in engine compartment if you see two master cylinders or two cylinders mounted together. If so the slave cylinder has probably gone bad on you. questions give holler at [email protected] i'll try to help you out Dale

Definately sounds like the clutch slave/master cylinder. I had a similar problem except that my pedal would re-pressurize after a bit. replaced with a master/slave combo unit & have had no problems since. parts=$100 time= 1-1/2 hours.
