My daughter had all new tires put on at pep-boys two years ago and the tire numbers are dunlop p205/50r15 and 84tm+s and now the tires wearing down somewhat and the rear tires are rubbing the shocks, both sides. I think these tires are so called low profile tires .When the tires were new i thought the tires were to close to the shocks ,but cleared by a half a inch. Any thoughts appreciated.

have you checked air pressure?

look on the edge of the driver's side door, is there a tire size listed there?

50's aren't really considered low profile tires, but if they're rubbing against the shock/strut whatever a geo has, you probably need to go to a lower size, (i.e.- 45,40,35)
