I have a 97' LT1, I have catback exhaust, moroso intake w/elbow, 52mm TB, 160 thermo, March Pulley's, lt4 knock module, free mods, bmr rear control arms and adjustable panhard rod, strange 3.73's with TA cover, and a set of MT ET Street Drag Radials that I can interchange... My next step is a stall but I dont know what size or brand to use with my gears....any info would be great....and what sort of improvements you guys got from your converters.

the best way is to actually dyno the car, and work from the actual power curve. but i would say for your setup a 2600-3000 stall would work, just make sure you get a lockup converter or youll be hating life at the gaspumps. Brand name is always good, but not always nessesary, i found mine on ebay for 145 bucks, fully custom built performance converter with 2600-2800 stall, and a kevlar lockup clutch. certanly impressed me. have yet to run her at the strip though, so couldnt tell ya what actual improovement i saw, but from seat of the pants, holy hell it was amazing. :evillol:

I went with a non-lockup converter. I dropped about 1.5-2 MPG. with a 3200 RPM stall. They are not that big of a deal.
However, non lockups are not just a throw in and be done deal. You have to replace the lockup spool in the valve body with a non lockup spool. So I would just go with a lockup converter. Just make sure you tell it to stay unlocked under full throttle. Unless you get one designed to lock up under full load
