I test drove this 1995 Blazer 4 Door 4X4. There were alot of things wrong with it. One, it didn't start right away. Two, the tires are really wore out. Three, the turn signals didn't work. Four, the service engine soon light was on. Now I need to know what I should offer. They have the price a $3600, But I ain't payin that much for a SUV with that many probs. Please respond ASAP. Thanks.

The check engine light is probably caused by oxygen sensor or indicating a misfire. My guess $500. The turn signals is probably the multifunction switch approx. $350.

What is an oxygen sensor and could you tell me about the misfire stuff. Is that stuff something major?

Hold on!

BlazerLS, don't start this guy on a wild goose chase, the Check engine light could mean over 200-300 things. Saying it is a O2 sensor is just stupid. If you don't know, don't post. This forum is here to help, not confuse him.

lionel,

The CPI injector is shot in the upper part of the engine, that will cost about $300-$500 if you do it yourself and that will cause the extended hard starting and poor idle and drivablility. This will probably have caused the EGR valve to get clogged full of carbon which will also need to be cleaned.

And that is just to start.

That truck the way it stands is worth maybe $2000-$2500 max seeing you will have to invest a lot to get it back to normal.

My suggestion is to keep looking.

I own a 1995 and I like it but I wouldn't have bought it if it was in that bad of shape.

Good Luck.

Could you help explain how I would go about fixing the CRI injector? And where I could get one?

"CPI" injector....Remove the upper plenum, pull each poppet nozzl, pull the injector, put in reverse, torque the plenum bolts down to 8 ft pounds each.

CPI = Center Point Injection System

Here is my experience with the repair.
