rough idle!! dies upon starting!! help?

i need a little help!! i just bought a '98 avenger, and it is a very nice car, from what i can tell. there is a slight prob. however that i need help with!! sometimes when i start the car, it will die right away. it will continue doing this until the car is warm. it also seems to have a rough idle when i am driving it. any suggestions on where to look?

First thing to check is the throttle cable. Set your Idle Higher than what it's at right now and see if that helps. Then adjust it so that while the car is running and warm that it idles at about 800 rpms. If you do that and it's still a prob, I would take it to a mechanic.

get a tune-up. maybe clean the egr valve.
