Hello,

I am getting ready to purchase a 91 3000gt and have a few questions. The car i am buying just got a brand new motor installed so that is fine. the body and everything else has 130k miles on it. What i am wondering is, are there any major problems with this model year that i should look out for or ask the owner about. and also, i dont really like the red interior and am wondering how much i would spend on getting all of the red in the interior (carpet, seats) reupholstered or redone because the leather and carpet is quite worn and cracking on the sides. thank you in advanced.

J

Well i'd watch out for transmission problems with that mileage, is it 5-spd or automatic? As far as the interior, carpets run from $100 - $200 from what i've seen on EBAY, and seats depend on which one's you get (leather, fabric, aftermarket) but average around $100/seat.

Woah man, you didnt mention it was a VR4, that thing is beautiful...let's see it has the 25 spline (updated mid 93) and not the 18 spline drive shaft(stock 1st gen, had problems), new transfer case (had a problem with the breaking, so a new one must be updated and wont break)...so to sum it up, tranny looks good, engine is new, body looks good...check out the brakes, suspension, and be sure that all the little things work (all the buttons and their functions) and that will be an amazing deal, well worth it in my opinion with minimal risk. Matter of fact, where is this, because if you don't get it, I definitely will. :)

Still get a competant mechanic to check it out before you buy it.
