exhaust rattle.

after driving my car for 10-15 minutes, i can hear my exhaust rattling against either my underbody, spare wheel well, or my rear axle. it gets really annoying on like 45 minute trips when every time i let off the gas you hear this horrible rattling. tomorrow i am going to jack her up and re tighten all the bolts with some loctite. any ideas why this rattling is going on, i could understand all the time, but only after driving for 10 or more minutes.

you can always go to a muffler shop and have them check it out. I dont think they would charge you much to stop the rattleling. Probably about 30 bucks to weld it better.

check your hangers.

its probably a loose heat sheild. wrap a big hose clamp around it and tighten it up.

A muffler shop should only charge you like $20 to fix it. Also I would not suggest loctite; just ask any old guy how to break loctite and he'll tell you to just simply "heat it up." Yes, even the high heat stuff.

This system is all bolt-on so i dont think it is the welding. i am just gonna get under the car and retorque all the bolts. i think it is from the exhaust expanding and contracting so much since i put it on, so the bolts may have become loose.

i'm telling you, it's probably a busted hanger.
exact same thing happened to me about a month ago.
one of the hangers busted and the pipe kept hitting and rattling. it didn't rattle the whole time i was driving either. it was one of the muffler hangers, not the piping hangers. check those.

im beting on the heat shield.
