I have a 99 4.3 with the remote oil filter and for the second time in two years my oil filter lines are leaking. I have 4 wheel drive so I can't attach
the filter to the block. Is there an aftermarket replacement so I don't waste my money and time puttting the same junk back on ??

Is there any way that you can cut off the krimped metal and clamp it?I was thinking of doing this because I have read about this problem before.People have replaced them just to be haunted with them again.

I'd have to go out and look at them again but I think that cutting them would make them too short.

They have repleased an improved set of lines that are triple crimpled instead of double.

Grab them at your GM Dealer.

The ones I have are triple crimped. Lasted about 50,000 miles.I bought another set today and the good news is that their going down in price  $73 compared to $86 two years ago

If they leak a small bit that is considered normal.

Mine has been oozing oil for 100,000 miles and still is fine.

Mine are sweating also.Doesn't that make you nervous though?

Not really.

It has been doing it for 100,000miles.

Nothing to get to concerned about then, unless they start putting oil out?Mine sweat to the point where it looks like a drop forms, but it just hangs there.

I did a search on this subject and I've read that a few people had their
lines come completly apart shortly after the leaking started. I drive ALOT so I changed mine right away so I have one less thing to worry about! I'm getting good at it at least, 1 1/2 hrs to change the latest
set!

Yea, some do come apart.

But they replace them and the leaking still occurs.

This is exactly what I see to.

Kinda half of a drop just hanging there.

I'm gonna take my old set to a hydraulic shop and see what they
can do with it for the next time I have this problem. I'm suprised there
was not a recall about this.
