I would like to get rid of the donut spare on my 96 Trans Sport, and would like to know what, if any other GM wheels would fit. Mine are standard 15 inch steel w/ wheelcovers.
Thanks in advance
Steve :grinno:

You're not going to be able to get a standard 15" wheel to mount up under the back of your van and fit into the space for the spare tire.

 Well on returning to FL. This fall , I had a blowout and had to use the spare for 350 miles.I carried the front tire under the back without any problems whatsoever, and even the manual suggests putting the regular tire on the hanger for safekeeping

Indeed from almost day 1, I have always carried a full size spare there under, cause I have 4 snow tires on separate wheels. SO in summer, my spare is a snow tire, and the opposite in winter.
ANd I do not think it is hard to find exact matching wheel from wrecked transports, and I think 15 in wheels from full size buicks and olds of those years are also perfect matches.

You're right... I looked in my manual and it does tell you to do that. I would never thought that my full size aluminum wheel would have tucked under there.

Thanks so much for your reply. I am replacing all 4 tides and will use the buick for a spare

Does anyone know what other GM cars use rims that will fit a 95 trans sport? thanks

I would check a Hollander manual which a lot of salvage yards use. It has a section that lists parts for vehicles and what other vehicles it can also be used on. I checked tirerack.com and they have plain steel wheels for a '95 for $68 each. I got my wheels for my '97 at tirerack and they were only $37 ea, cheaper than the local salvage yards, and the yard's wheels were used . I'm not sure if the next generation Transport and other van rims would work, but would think the Lumina, and Silhouette should work from '96 and earlier.
