im a newbee,(as my doc says) i have some brain liquids missing, non-english speaker, live in turkey. i am the model fan with the worst luck you can ever met. i cant find models due to lack of interest in my country and import rules, even if you can find them they are expensive, finding apparel and finishing stuff is even harder. but I still want to have body finishes like guiddy's(dan). hey dan, i want to beat you really really bad when i see those photos. i want to hit you with a tennis racket right in your face. how can they shine so well??? how can they look so neat? i am soooooo jelous about them. please help me with clear steps. i read your other thread but i need more clear steps. you and your neat little cars are in great danger until you teach me how to do it.
q1) i have tamiya compound. what does it really do and at what stage should i use it?
q2) do i have to sandpaper the body after every primer and body color spray.
q3) after zillions of coats of primers and body colors you say that i should sand!! the body before waxing. am i correct or at the edge of a bloody mistake?
q4)steps please steps.
ex.
a-light primer
b-wait 12 hours
c-light primer
d-kick the dog
e-compound
f-say "i admire dan" 3 times
g-spray body
so on so on.....
all i care is the shiny finish, i can handle the other parts. i need body finishes like yours.
i admire your works and you are a great motive.

Erm, apart from telling you you need help...BADLY! Here are your answers...
a. Almost last. Before wax, decals or window frame painting. But after ALL paint has been applied.
b. No! Only VERY lightly after the last primer coat and before the first body colour coat. Only after that if you have a spec of dust. Inbetween coats is optional and for the pros. You will get the same results without it.
c. WRONG, and definately on the edge of a major mistake!
These are the steps...
a-light primer
b.medium primer
c-heavier primer
d-kick the dog
e-light sanding
f-say "i admire dan" 333 times
g-spray body with 4 coats
h. leave for a week then compound
i.wax
j.admire
so on so on.....
