Demerit points?

I want to check to see if the points I got in NH are on my record in MA (they might not be because they got my fucking name wrong on the report!). I checked the DMV site but they want $30 for something that should be free, maybe gateway can help since he knows insurance companys and they must havea a way of getting them.

I have no idea, some states have an understanding with each other, and points carry, some do not. Call your dmv and ask if points carry over from NH. If you want to ask Gateway, PM him.

well there are 2 ways that I know of to know your motor vehicle report (MVR)

1) go to the dmv and ask for it. I live in iowa, and you can look at it for free, or buy the page for $5.

2) get an insurance quote, say you'll buy the policy, and let them run the MVR. then see what's on it. Write it down if you want. Then hang up :)

Are the points given to a person by their name or the plate number or what? Would I have any chance of gettin out of it since they botched my middle initial? Dman I hope I don't get 4 points.

they usually put it on your MVR by your Drivers License #, so you are probably screwed.

However, depending on the violation, non-moving violations don't usually hurt your insurance (unless it's drug/alcohol related)
