Why do people insist on making their cars look totally stupid?????

Just saw an extremely riced up FTO drive past where I work. That should be illegal. The owner should be slapped around the head and have his car taken off him. Poor FTO! :(

some people just don't have any good taste, the only other definition is they are blind. I used to have a couple stickers on my car (all were for products that were actually on ther) but after a little thinking I figured why addvertise so I took all of them off and only left my window one (for two reasons I think it accents the car nicely plus it was like $30 so no way in hell am I gonna scrap it off.) But seriously I don't know what to say it's a mystery to me too.:confused: :)

well tell me if you think this is dumb or not....

im going to take my pathfinder. First, im going to stick a nice supercharged V8 in there. Then im gonna lower it and put car-like chrome wheels with low profile tires on. Im trying to figure out a nice way to put smokestacks on it. Gonna make the front end look more agressive too, i.e change out the lights and all of that goodness. No wings, cause that wont be neccesary, but i want a RACING SUV. hmm. If not, im gonna get a Dodge Ram or Dakota and turn it into a lowered racing-truck. Im sick of riced out cars. Cars are nice and all, but how cool would it be to kick some tail with good old displacement power? hmm.

Tell me about it. Saw a 4 door skyline today with a huge ass Supra wing on the back, I felt like going over and bitch slapping him in da head:eek:

I am sick of being slammed by people who critisize me for not putting big wings and spoilers on my Peugeot why would I want to kill a good looking Gallc cars charm???? A Peugeot body kit is as far as I'm going mate, like they say, it's not wants on the otdide but on the inside that counts.

If I see some young punk puttinf a bodykit on a P12 Primera I am going to smack the Punk SO HARD......

There's a point in making it look better, and then the line you cross that makes it look butt stupid... Unfortunately a lot of people don't know where that line is.

i saw a get this *geo prizm* with a BIG ASS wing on it. I should have rear ended him. I bet the car is suicidal cause of all the poeple laughing at it.

The latest craze i've seen is having coloured lights under your car...has to be worth at least 10-15 bhp :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

The ones i have seen are bright purple fluro lights that run the length of the car on both sides just under the side skirts.....god it cracks me up :D :D :D :D

Yeah it's a worldwide problem now , pepole here also put big ass wings and paint those little calipers in red or yellow in their daewoos and fiats...:rolleyes:

The whole rice thing annoys the hell out of me. I've seen CRXs with great lines being destroyes as paople rice them out. I'm old school I guess - keep the lines and enhance the car with wheels suspension and engine and let the original job do the rest.

no see it's not the lights that bother me, but the huge ass bookshelf wings and the fart pipes that piss me off becasue you're not gonna get any gain outta that when u got a Civic DX or something.... i do think that some body kits are nice looking, but you have to have the speed and the handling to match it.... the lights don't bother me all that much seeing if you were coming from the center of las vegas or something, also another thing that really pisses me off is seeing cars that are so low to the ground that they can't even go over a speed bump without ripping something out of the car....and those crazy camber and toe angles on the wheels are just plain wrong! you know what i mean when you look at the wheels and they look like they're bout to fall off cuz they're at such a severe angle....it's called taking of the basics first , engine, transmission, suspension, brakes and tires, no bookshelf wings, no dumb ass decals, and no fuckin fart pipes that wake up the damn neighborhood at 2:30 in the morning when you're trying to sleep! :mad:

Personally I think riced out cars are funny as hell because I can just see someone my age taking some shitbox and instead of tring to make it look better they waste all of their money on dumb crap that doesn't do anything or in fact hurts your speed and power by adding extra weight. I mean those big assed wing have to weigh like 20-30lbs. their HUGE! not only that but they add downforce (aka drag) and unless you have enough power to make that worthwhile you are just adding to your problems, in addition if your car is front drive like a lot of the rice mobiles are why the hell would you force down the back, doing so would make the car harder to turn at high speed because the front is lighter and the back is much heavier. secondly, on the ground-scraping ride height, yes a car that rides that low does look pretty cool but it is so impractical that it borders on stupidity. if you seriously want to ride that low at least run air bag suspension so you can lift it up when you want to go that way you don't bust your car to shit on a rock driving down the road. and lastly about the camber angles that is unexcusable thats just fucking stupid it serves no purpose it kills your tires and bearings and it makes you look like you get your car worked on by Joe the half-assed mechanic. I've said it once and I'll say it agian I except not responsablility for the stupidity brought about by members of my generation we really aren't all riced out shit box drivers some of us really do care about how our car looks and we never fuck up a good thing we only make them better, I only wish there were more like us and less of them. :D :cool:

I totally agree though as long as I stay cool I'm good;) but seriously I can't belive how expensive that crap is and people still buy it big wings are $500+ and those mufflers are like 200-300 thats a lot of damn money for little or no performance gain. I just laugh at cars like that though, I can't belive someone can waste $5000 on just a bunch of crap that doesn't do anything I mean seriously if you want to draw attention make alot of power or make something that can handle like a son of a bitch. don't just waste money on a bunch of junk cause if you ever get called out and your car only looks fast you'll look like even more of a fool when you get your ass handed to you. :cool:

OMG, they were sooo bad! The Skyline one (Moondog’s expression says it all really!) doesn't look half as bad in the picture as it was in real life though. That nice scratched paintwork and bits of cardboard stuck on the side, only 3 matching wheels and did I mention that paintwork! :p :hehehe: Very, very sad! :p

hmmmm... let's see.......

The car was two different colours - blue and purple. The paint was very obviously applied with a spray can - you could see the marks. The bonnet was scratched and totally "un-glossy". The number plate was cut around the edges of the letters/numbers. Three of the wheels were the standard 15" R33 GTS wheels, and one was a standard R32 GTS wheel with the centre cap removed. The stripes on the side (you can only just make them out in the picture) looked like they were cut out of cardboard (I'm serious!) and glued on - and they were starting to come off in bits.

I could have cried. Poor whale :crying:

I looked through the pictures posted in this thread, and this just helps confirm what I already know. The world is apparently full of tasteless, tactless, hapless morons without class.

I know rice is just about everywhere, and I can assert that West Hartford is certainly a demi-haven for it. Sad, so sad. We just have to accept our grim circumstances among them and make the best of it ;)

I totally agree with you on the undercar fluorescent lights. Stupid! However, I have a 15" black light inside my Civic HB, which I ran to a switch so it's on only when I want it on. I think it looks pretty neat inside. You can't see it from the outside, so I'm not trying to "show it off" or anything. Anyone think this is really retarded of me??? I don't want tobe one of "those cars" :(

This is the complicated part that eludes the common dumbass. You can get away with tinted windows, an underbody kit, a large rear wing, a flashy set of rims, even a loud body color, but it has to be done with taste. If done RIGHT, the vehicle can look very good.

My friend has a Grand Cherokee (I think it’s a ’95) with tints, rims, large front and rear grilles, and a few other touches, and the thing is beautiful. It is all about knowing where to draw the line, and carefully selecting what you do. In conclusion, I am sure your black light is righteous :sun:

Those pics of the 300zx and even more so the mr2 made me want to cry. both of those cars are beautiful machines that never did anything to deserve such heinous treatment. Maybe we can set up a shelter for battered automobiles (nice one's only need aply) and then we can bring them back tto their former pristine glory, and then we get them

Answer to FTO Girl's question;

I think basically, that certain people think what they are doing is normal, and in a way, it is.

From what i've noticed there are certain characteristics of people that can be classified, there is a somewhat growing population of people with absolutely horid taste, but there is no physical difference or anything, I'm sure you guys have figured this out, my sister for example, is one, anything she creates I absolutely hate, not that I don't like her too much, but her taste is bad, and it's not just my opion, other people notice it too.

So basically, people with really poor taste, aren't told of it, and in thier minds, nothing's wrong, so these my friends are your ricers, taking half-decent cars, and turning them into the land-based tactical fighters you see roaming the streets!

the only thing i dont like on this car is the sideskirts and stickers on this car, the damn stickers should be on the left hand door :p (right side if your in usa), theres a reason for this believe it or not.

if you think i got bad taste then maybe i dont like the look of some other cars(yours?), everyone has difrent taste in cars, even though some cars are done in really poor taste and dont represent anything, for example, a family sedan with an outragous bodykit and stock ride hight.

im not talking about rice(after all the confusion over this word i hate to use it, but i will to simplify things) here, i dont care about a car that has a theme (race, drift, rally, showcar) but when someone puts some huge spoiler on a family sedan, i start to think its just stupid, the car still doesnt look anywhere near a sports car, it doesnt go fast, all it shows is that you wish you had a fast car or sports car.
this is only my opinion though.

if you can make it look like a sports/race/show car, then good, sometimes people want there car to look better and original, thats why companys offer extras such as sideskirts and bodykits when you buy your new car.

about a sports suv, thats good cause its original and if your gonna be beating sports cars with your blown v8 then who can complain, whos gonna be laughing when they get beaten by a pathfinder.

Well people have the temptation of "hopping" up their vehicle, mainly the youngster's. About the altezza's being crappy, thats your opinion. Believe it or not, some cars do look good with the altezza's.
