'97 4Runner Problem...Help Please...

Hello, I searched the threads and found somewhat similar symptoms like we are experiencing, but I did not see what their solutions to the problems were and could use some help please. So far this has only happened to my wifes 4Runner after it has sat all night. She starts the truck up and waits till the engine idles down before trying to take off. When she moves the automatic transmission to forward, you can hear the motor come under normal load like it is in gear, but the vehicle acts as if it is locked up briefly, then all of a sudden it lets go with a "clunking" noise and she can then pull off. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

This is a good question and should have been a "given" for me to question the brakes. I will have to ask my wife when she gets home(Her 4Runner). Keep them coming...Thanks
