Pac or BIG

Normaly when I ask this question to people they say Pac, but why? Dont get me wrong, I love Pac but I also love Biggie. So whats the deal? Does Biggie not measure up somehow? I would call it a tie; but if i had to choose or die....mmmmm..........Biggie (only because his rap style resembles mine). Speak your mind.
Edit* lol, just noticed all the rhymes in that post.

I just plain could not get into any of big's songs, even all his hits, i dont know, Tupac just had better shit...plain and simple, i could listen to an entire Tupac CD all the way through without skipping a track, but biggie just never had anything that i wanted to hear like pac did.

Pac has a better flow to his songs then BIG. BIG was a more layed back type of rapper while Pac was more of a gangster rapper and more agressive. Just my 2 cents.

Pac is one of the greatest rappers..... cause of his energy, voice, carisma(sp) not because of his skills on the mic
Biggie is NO QUESTION a better rapper/lyricist than pac.... pacs rhymes were simple yet effective. But biggie had more complex rhymes, better metafors and multiple rhymes. If you listen to some biggie songs he paints a picture in your head, you can SEE what he's talkin about like its a movie. Pac was never that descriptive
and i totally disagree with you Josh... i love pac and i have all of his CDs. BUT every Pac album has a couple songs that are trash, he doesnt have albums that i can play through without skipping except for maybe 7 day theory.
Now if you listen to Ready To Die, Pac NEVER made an album that calibur.... every single song is crazy, its a true classic album. The difference is Pac has WAY more songs, so he has alotta trash and alotta good songs. While biggie has a bigger percentage of hot songs imo
Simply put,
Pac is the type of rapper to rhyme simple shit like cat, hat, bat
while BIGs rhymes are more complex

but I reckon Big L should be in the mix, equally as dope as them

BIG has more substance? No way, if really read into Pac's lyrics and the true meaning behind them all, including all of his poetry Pac is extremely deep. I always knew he had a strong message behind his music, but I was unaware of how powerful the lyrics were until i saw Tupac Resurrection. I really recommend the movie to anyone, really, b/c it shows the side of Pac that wasnt shown in the media.

Personally its 2pac for me. Biggies no doubt one of the greatest, and hes a close second to pac for me. But as mentioned in eariler posts, Pac has deeper rhymes and their not all just about the gangs etc. Theirs some songs that are all about the struggle, for example Changes. Also if you've never heard the song "Staring through my rearview" then i suggest you listen to it, it has such a deep meaning behind it.
Biggie is no doubt a better lyricist, freestyler etc. But he just doesnt have the same substance in his songs as pac does. Well to me he doenst anyways. Hes damn good obviously, but pac is just one baby step higher if you ask me...

Tupac is more than just a person who can say a few words that rhyme and make it into a song.... He wrote about all the struggles of his life in his songs, listen to the song Only God Can Judge Me, the lyrics in that song flow so well together you can't help but think the man's a lyrical genius, and the vocabulary he uses in a lot of his songs shows he was as smart as his songs sounded.

Anyways both have different styles. Its not whos better than who...which style you prefer. Lyrically speaking..Tupac is off. Biggie has quite a few dope lyrics.

Hey Josh what language is that?
Indonesian: Written and performed by Stuhby, there's more to the song but that part is the basis of the whole song so....
[translation]
Hundreds of Thousands of faces
Standing hungry in the streets
What's written in future (destiny)?
Who's bad karma/vibes has hurt them
(This line is very hard to translate exactly)
Recognize their eyes
Two symbols of jealousy
Led by hate and anger
Fueled by false hopes of riches

That's probably what i meant, i dont know what the hell i'm talking about half the time when it comes to foreign languages. All i know is Stuhby's parent's are from India, and he was born and raised in America, and that he read, writes, and speaks 3 different languages. So your most likely right.

He's on top.... Top 5 for sure. He had crazy metafors and his freestyles were off the fukin richter scale
You prolly didn't like his first album cause of the beats, listen to the lyrics and judge him by the lyrics cause beats dont judge the rappers skill.
examples:
first line of the CD
"Aiyyo, you betta flee Hobbes, or get your head flown three blocks
L keep rapper's hearts pumpin like Reeboks"
"And when it comes to gettin nookie I'm not a rookie
I got girls that make that chick Toni Braxton look like Whoopie"
"L's a clever threat, a lyricist who never sweat
Comparing yourself to me is like a Benz to a chevrolette"
"And my raps is unbelievable like aliens and flying saucers
No more iron horses cause I'm buying Porsches"
Wordplay
"I'm like Machine Gun Kelly, wit a black skully
Put one in your belly, leave you smelly, then take your Pelle Pelle"
"I put chumps to rest fast, when my Smith-Wes' blast
So just dash or trespass and get your chest smashed"
"And my swole knob your main girl cold slobbed
and gave a blow job to my whole mob, with no prob'"
"Cause on the shelf is where your LP cold stood
Because it was no good, that shit ain't even go wood"
"I'm undefeated that's the stone truth
Cause battlin' me is like fightin' a gorilla in a phone booth"
"Once a nigga tried to stick me for six G's
and I put more holes in his ass than swiss cheese"
"Step to this and get shanked up
I knocked out so many teeth the tooth fairy went bankrupt"
"you aint made a hit yet, you flop in a split sec
In the shower's the only time you get your dick wet
I roll with scary crews, I come out of wars barely bruised
I'm puttin motherfuckers on the Daily News
I was a gangsta from the git-go
Leavin fags in bodybags with tags on they big toe"
"My old man in the past, stuck me up without a mask
Then his ass cold dashed with my cash fast
Fifty G's is what the creep stole; so the next day
knocked on his door and shot his granny through the peephole"
"I got styles you can't copy bitch, it's the triple six
in the mix, straight from H-E-double-hockey sticks
Every Sunday, a nun lay from my gun spray
Fuck Carlito, we doin' shit the Devil Son's way"
"A tech nine is my utensil
Fillin' niggas with so much led they can use they dick for a pencil"
"I got drug spots from New York to Canada
Cause Big L be fuckin' with more keys than a janitor"
Sorry so many.. but Big Ls got so many tight quotables. Pac never came up with clever metafors and similes like some of these

Look in my opinion this shouldn't have replies period. SERIOUSLY! Every emcee had there on time and there own style. As hip hop progressed greats passed into shadows of the new school but they weren't forgotten. I mean out of all the best could you honestly believe that you could find an actual best. Pac had his style. I loved it he delivered his music from the depths of his soul. "Wonder if Heaven Got A Ghetto" had a whack title but it was a deep ass song. Pac was actually trying to bring reform to the people. Trying to get them to another level. I respect that. Big was an emcee that should've been named a legend. He didn't write most of his shit cuz he spit it off the dome. I respect biggie for that. Rakim great artist. He basically invented FLOW. ODB is one of them. True genius's are hard to understand and who could honestly get that fucker! Rest in Peace. I loved his style In Brooklyn Zoo! Wu-Tang is for the kids bitches! Mos Def.. Don't get me started I could talk for days he is my favorite. Wordplay and message gets the award for that. But like I said there isn't a best. You might have a personal favorite but there is NOT a best emcee.

i agree.. you cant say 1 rapper is the best of all, people have different tastes
but MF Doom and MC Juice arent on Big Ls level. You dont know how much work Big L put in. He was a legend in the streets for 10 years before he died, he was supposed to be on Rocafella but that deal fell through. He basically started Mases and Camrons careers (when they still spit tight lyrically) So he was puttin in work, and started his own independant label Flamboyant Records. And as you know its ALOT harder to get noticed when you're trying to blow up from an independant label.
Big L was about to blow up before he died... everything was building up to it.
Theres alotta underground rappers that are crazy, maybe spit more clever metafors than L. But they dont have that balance he had, he spits with crazy wordplay, crazy flow, clever metafors, crazy off the dome freestyles. BUT he could put together a song, an album. Thats whats important.
Canibus could prolly rip 99% of the music industry in a battle.... but you dont see him being succesful, cause he cant put together tight songs, complete albums. know what i'm sayin?

The reason Canibus doesnt make songs, is because his voice sounds like an asshole. He is just worshipped because he uses random extended vocab, and at the end of the day its not music.

wha?? Were way off topic here. This is not a thread about the greatest rapper, if it was there would be more than two. This is just a comparison between 2 of the greatest rappers of all time. Just trying to get some opinions about the age old question of whose better-Pac or BIG. Therefore i dont see how Big L, Rakim, and others tie into this. So I guess the REAL thread question is: Who do YOU prefer?

nah.. his voice is ass, but sometimes he sounds aright. Like on Can-i-bus he sounded aright...
listen to him spit 100 or 200 bars, he has insane punchlines and clever metafors. He'll blow you away with some of the shit he says, how isnt that music.
I dont even really like canibus, but battle wise... why do you think eminem was scared to even aim a song at him. Cause Canibus would of ripped him up... instead he focused on rappers that are wack lyrically like Ja Rule and Benzino
