Failed KEYLESS ENRTY on 95 740i

Has anyone experienced a complete loss of their keyless entry functions on a 95-01 740? I had the dealer check it out and they say the keys and modules are fine- so they believe it is in the wiring. Anyone have any ideas or recommendations on how to approach this problem?
LAST THOUGHT: Has anyone installed an aftermarket keyless entry system and successfully integrated it with the factory alarm as a possible fix to a problem like this?
I appreciate your feedback greatly!
Thanks much,

The dealer owes you more than they gave you IF you paid a Diagnostic fee.....either the tech wasn't well enough trained, couldn't "read" what he/she was reading or had another 'better' paying job waiting.......IF they had it connected to either a MoDiC, GT1 or the DIS Tester they weren't far from diagnosing the problem, most commonly a fuse OR the system has 'locked out' which requires resetting with the tester.

The fuse is behind the rr trunk panel for the central locking system "you might have to pull back some insulation". If the fuse is blown the fuel filler cover actuator is ther most common problem. you may need to reinitialize the keys . If all else fails I would get a second opinion from a tech with more experience.

I had the same problem, The 5amp fuse (no. 58 or 56) above the battery was blown. I replaced the fuse, reinitialized the keys and everything was ok. I think I have to replace the fuel filler actuator or it may happen again, but 2 weeks later, it's still working ok.
