Hi! I just bought a used 2004 Cavalier LS Sport coupe with keyless entry. How do I set the car alarm to be active? The fob just has the general lock, unlock, alarm and trunk buttons. I'm obviously doing something wrong...can someone help?
Thanx!

First of all, smartass, the car was bought USED, it didn't come with the manual! Secondly, if I had the manual, I wouldn't have posted on the forum only to get a reply from an ignoramus like yourself! If anyone else would be so kind to help me, it would be greatly appreciated

Under the dash where the little box is with the flashing green light, on the back of that box is a toggle switch. Up is to turn the alarm on, down is to keep the alarm off. With the toggle switch up, anytime you lock the doors with the remote, the alarm will arm it self. Press the lock button twice and you should hear the horn honk once to let you know the alarm is active.
If you have the toggle switch turned off, I think the green light won't be flashing when you turn off the car, the light should be off till you close the doors, then it will flash. With the switch turned to on, the light will flash green when you turn off the car.
Also, the alarm won't activate if you lock the doors using the power door locks then close the door, only when you press the lock button on the remote.
Another thing, when the alarm is active, you can still use the remote to open the trunk. The alarm will automatically turn off when you open the truck with the remote. When you close the trunk, the alarm will automatically activate again.
