Quick Question Exhaust

Whats up I have a stupid question. I recently ran over a plastic bag and it got stuck somewhere under my car and is making a bad ass smell.

So I took a look while the car was running and noticed on the exhaust pipe ( Invidia full cat ) I can see in the middle where the gasket is that blurryness/fire/fume radiating on the pipe. Is that normal? Would I have a leak maybe? I was just concerned never really took a look under my car (while running) and figured I'd ask here first before jackin that sucker up. Main reason being I am getting an inspection tomorrow and I want to make sure I pass...

It's probably just heat waves. You can hear an exhaust leak pretty easily, even the smallest one. If you really wanna check it out, get under there and have some one rev it while you have your hand underneath it (be sure not to burn yourself) and see if you can feel it leaking.

Yea seriously cant hear a problem just concerned on the heat wave issue. I gotta jack it up anyways to get that bag out. I'll try that rev with the hand not burning idea. Cool deal .
