I want to open my mouth and bash my head against a curb... safely.

What do you want to run 30 psi for?
What are you trying to do with your car?

It would be significantly easier to figure out what you want from your car (your goal) and then figure out the steps to get there. Without that focus you are going to spend a lot of time and money on unnessary steps.

That being said, unless you are going well over 500 RWHP there isn't going to be a need for rods.

As for 30 psi of boost, that means almost nothing unless you know from what turbo and what power level you are expecting from it.

Boost does not kill out engines, detonation does.
If you control detonation, I see no reason why you couldn't run 30 psi (properly tuned) on a 100% original OEM engine.

I am currently racing at 24.5 psi on a 100% original unopened 3SGTE with 200,200+ miles on it ... with over 120 1/4 mile passes, 20+ dynos pulls, 3 hill climb events, 6 autocrosses and lots and lots of abusive street driving.

The 3SGTE can handle a lot of boost/power/abuse if it ie properly set up.

And 24.5 is ALOT of boost...

im doing full out drag at 30 psi and then turning it down for street driveing so i want 30 psi witch should have me around 600 hp i think

How are you figuring that 30 psi = 600 rwhp?

There are many more factors than just boost pressure. The size of your turbo is going to be crucial. I assure you I am not going to make 600 rwhp on my turbo @ 30 psi. :)

Is this 3SGTE going into your Celica?

yes its going in my celica and im getting a autotronic stand alone to tune it i cant remember what turbo my friend has it on his mr2 he has a 3rd gen motor and he is puting like 30 psi to it

the amount of boost you run for HP gain depends on what turbo you have on the engine.

a CT26 or CT20b won't run very well at 30psi... they hit max efficiency and power at about half that

the turbo i want isnt a toyota turbo but i cant remember the name of it ill have to ask my friend what it is again

Jekyl-
I'm planning on getting the ATS td06 kit and running 12psi street/ 18psi track, daily driven. What internals or other mods would you suggest to avoid detonation and knocking? Also do you recommend any shops in NJ?

spikeman, it depends on what part of NJ you are in.
My mechanic is right inside the PA/NJ border off of Rt 78. Otherwise, there is a sticky on the MR2 board in the NJ/NY/PA forum with a list of mechanics.

I would suggest water injection if you want to run abigger turbo like the TD06. It is the best insurance you can buy. I would not go over 15 psi on the TD06 with out upgrading your fuel system.

I am using the basic aquamist mist WI system.

There is a guy on the MR2 Board: joeo
He is great guy and he sells a WI kit that he makes ... from what I understand is is really a great kit and much cheaper than aquamist.
