Avoid Tickets!!!

IMHO your best chance of getting out of a ticket is while you are at the side of the road. I know that its possible, in fact likely that you can get it lowered or removed alltogether in court, however if the ticket is as low as possible to start with when/if you go to court your in a better position. The following is a description of how to get that ticket as low as possible road-side.
IMPORTANT!!!!
Don't Break The Law! Don't Think You Can Out Run The Cops! (Motorola radios go a LOT faster than you can) Don't Drink and Drive! I have to put this in even though I know it will in no way be life changing for anyone, but the fact is if your not doing anything wrong, its alot harder to get a ticket.
1.) Signal to the officer when you see his lights to let him know you are aware he wants you to pull over. Anything from flashing you brake lights, to waving (NO middle fingers) can help to lessen the following officer's tension.
2.) Find a spot that offers lots of room, light (at night), in high visibility to other drivers, and out of the way of traffic. The idea here is to make the office feel like they are in a safe place to approach your car.
3.) The next step depends on if your car has electric windows or not. If you don't turn off the car and turn on your dome light, then once the officer aproaches your car roll down the appropriate window. If you do have automatic windows roll down both driver and passenger side windows, then turn on your dome light and turn off your car.
4.) take the keys out of the ignition and place them on the dash where the officer will easily be able to see them.
5.)When/if the officer asks you if you know why they pulled you over answer honetly. Don't fidget, Don't be nervous, Don't be rude, Don't lie, and Don't be argumentative.
6.)When the officer asks for your license and registration, tell him/her where it is and let them tell you to retreive them. Don't fidget, Don't be nervous, Don't be rude, Don't lie, and Don't be argumentative.
7.) Be polite at all times. Don't chat. Don't apologize. Don't try to use lame excuses as to why you shouldnt be given a ticket, and don't expect any excuse to get you out of one. Lame excuses can be useful to try to explain why you were doing something you shouldn't have been doing if the officer seems receptive, nice, or in a good mood; however if the officer is pissed it will only worsen the situation.
8.) If the officer decides to let you off with a warning, THANK THEM, i.e. "Thank you, very much." If the officer gives you a ticket acknowledge them but do not argue with them. Something to the extent of "Yeah, I kinda figured I had that coming", or "allright" should work.
9.) Don't fidget, Don't be nervous, Don't be rude, Don't lie, and Don't be argumentative.
10.) This last one is not mandatory but it can help. Call your local Police station up (NOT 911!!!) and ask to go on a ride-along. Get to know them and have them be your friends. It makes it a lot easier to find out where speed traps get set up, how they like to be treated, ect.. Send them cookies or something every now and again, and write letters thanking them. Believe me this kinda stuff gets posted and the more officers that know your name for good reasons the better.
Don't believe this stuff works? I have been pulled over more than a dozen times and I have only got 1 ticket my whole life (85 in a 55, marked down to 65 in a 55).

Good advice with just a few additions
"Anything from flashing you brake lights, to waving (NO middle fingers) can help to lessen the following officer's tension."
Better is to slow down and put on your four-ways.
"When/if the officer asks you if you know why they pulled you over answer honetly."
You don't want to lie but you don't want to admit to anything either. Most officers now record traffic stops so remember that your words may be played back in court. It pays economically to contest every speeding ticket because of the additional cost of insurance. If the officer has you on tape admitting to driving 120mph it is hard for the judge to cut you any slack.

ALWAYS say "I didnt realize I was going so fast", (unless you were doing 120 mph, then you obviously knew you were going that fast) and maybe before you say that, do a little.. "damn" under your breath to really emphasize the idea that you didnt know you were speeding so much. Dont be a kiss ass, because that makes it so much easier for them to hand you the ticket if you are playing the role of the apologetic speeder. Just sit there and answer your questions as ignorantly as possible. I wouldnt recommend putting the keys on the dash because it gives the impression that youve been in this situation enough times before... leave the keys in the ignition that way he can ask you to remove them and you can show how cooperative and easy to work with you are going to be. Unless the cop knows your car, tell them you don't normally drive in this area, and you werent aware of the speed limit. (only if they ask!!) You might want to do a little bit of a leg shake, not something major, but just enough to get his attention so that he might ask you what the problem is, to which you can reply.. "I have to go to the bathroom" while looking the officer in the eyes... dont throw any adjectives in there like, ...I REALLY have to go... no, keep it simple, and natural so you dont appear to be saying it for any particular reason (*ahem*to get out of a ticket*ahem*).. and if they do ask if that is why you were speeding.. DO NOT SAY YES!!.. duh.. reply with a simple but a polite restatement of "no sir I didnt realize I was going that fast." Kissing ass will get you a ticket every damn time. Unless of course you have big ol titties, and a miniskirt, but then of course not all the rules apply to you and you probably already know how to manipulate men anyways, so what are you doing reading this thread?? lol... oh yeah.. in case you get pulled over by a girl cop... duh... hehe.. anyways... combine mine and peanuts ideas as you see fit, and you should be able to get out of a few infractions. I personally weaseled my way out of a ticket for doing 57 in a 35... a proud moment for me lol
