Rear Wiper - 1998 Blazer

I'm getting frustrated trying to resolve my rear wiper failure. I have tested the switch which is ok however no power to the rear wiper motor. I assume that there is a faulty ground of hidden fusible link.

Any suggestions ?

On my 1996 there is a plastic push button switch near the center loop for the latch. If the switch is not depressed in enough the wiper will not move ( thinks the hatch glass is open ) . With the dash switch on, hatch glass open, hold the switch in and see if the wiper moves. I had to grab my wiper and assist it to move a few times with my hand now it is working on its own. My plastic button is kind of beat up it looks like it has a bunch of ribs on it and you pull the body out or push the body in to adjust its depth and the ribs catch on the collar to keep it in place.

If that doesn't work, time to remove the inner panel and look for some loose connections.

Looks like it will be lift the inner panel and look for loose connection as the rear glass latch button only appears to turn the interior lights on or off. I tried this once before but what the hey ! - I may have missed something.

I've played with my rear wiper several times...a good way to test it is remove the int. panel, the metal plate, yes all those screws, and then locate the wires (two) that goes to the latch area, just trace the wires from the wiper to this area, remove the connection there and use a jumper wire to over ride the switch for the colsure of the top glass...make sure you are not in the road of the wiper arm when you turn on the ign switch and the wiper switch...

I have the same problem with mine. I fixed the front wiper board by resoldering the connection point on the circuit board. I wonder if this could also be the cause of the rear stopping.
