well back when i had a system i just used the orion hcca 12" sub box with 1 hcca 12. 800 watts to it at 1 ohm..talk about loud low deep bass. I could bounce a half dollar 2 inches off my roof. But i took that shit out and have it all in my room, except for the extra battery it took to power my 1 sub...lol friggin loud!!!!! to loud. But if you plan on having a back seat well...you might have to go custom built. Sounds better with seat down though. More free moving air.

Subs are gay. Get over them. Gay, gay, gay, stupid, gay, overrated, gay, gay. Did I mention that subs are gay. Extra weight means slower, worse gas milage, and of course gay.

Extra weight? Most people's asses weight more then a sub+amp. I know that adding a few pounds will cut your gas mileage in half and make you do the 1320 in like 3 hours, but at least you'll have good music...btw that's sarcasm, you can save that weight by putting in lightweight wheels, a carbon hood and a lightweight flywhee.

Or just save money and don't put in gay subs. This is one topic where I am very opinionated. Subs are pointless. If you really respected and loved music, subs wouldn't be in your car. A good set of speakers is all you need. Subs only detroy sound quality and drown out all other sounds. The real reason fags buy subs is so all the little freshman girls at their old high school will give them a second look.

subs do not dround out sound...thats a poorly tuned radio...its just like a car it has to be tuned right. I want you to go buy surround sound for your home audio and not get a sub with it....yea you have no clue about radios or sound so how can you be to opinionated. Its up to you if you want loud bass or not but iv heard 170db systems that sound crystal clear and you cant sit in it for more than a few seconds because yea you'll have health issues. for real. Now the kids that just go around bumping the bass and have more trunk rattle than music....now thats gay!!!!!!. those are like the ricers of car audio.

Unfortunatly almost all people with subs in their car are that way. And saying I don't know about sound is stupid. I have a $2,000 suround sound system in my 11 foot by 11 foot bedroom. Wrong guy to mess with chuki-breath. I know way more than you think. I also know that good speakers produce enough low bass for anyones taste. And in a surround sound system their are either 5 or 6 good speakers to one small sub. Don't be stupid, can you see the difference?

s13wannabe i don't agree with your argument about subs drowning out everything else.. subs have a purpose. if you use them the right way, they can be unbelievable.. if you say that subs drown out other sounds, then theoretically, tweeters do the same.. (they don't but its part of my argument) a really good system will have subs that give you the low-end (long) wavelengths of sound.. then there's the 6X9s which give you the low-mid.. then there's the 6 1/2's and 4" speakers which give you the mid-range, and finally tweeters which give you the high (short) wavelengths of sound.. if you have all wavelengths balanced, every speaker will play a big part in constructing a sound comparable to almost no other.. obviously, the right amps and deck will be very important too but in the end, subs can be very helpful to sound quality.. now i know there are some kids out there with 2 subs, 2 2-way speakers, an amp and a deck.. in fact, most people have a setup somewhat like this and they're the ones who make you think subs drown out everything else.. some of them will turn up the bass, have no mid-range and lots of treble.. THAT is where i agree with you but other than that, when subs are used properly, they're great!

I'll agree with you there. It's just that averyone around here, Orange County, where people have plenty of money to make great sound systems in big luxury SUV's, people just get really good subs, with a really good amp and deck, and go around bumpin'. I'm sure it's not very different most everywhere else if the people here, who have tons of money, aren't even building a well-balanced sound system. I also don't thinka car is the place for a crazy huge and nice sound system. SUV's sure, but not cars. There is nothing wrong with a really good and balanced sound system, but 49 out of 50 people have shit systems and just drive around trying to impress little girls. If I'm going to impress people, I want it to be with my driving.

My two 6x9s mounted in my doors sound great without subs. I don't listen to my radio very often. I listen to my turbo.

you fit 6X9s in your door????? DAMN.. the guy i deal with didn't think he could do it so i went with some half decent infinity 6 1/4" 2-ways in my doors and left the original shitty 3 1/2s that were in the rear.. how hard was it to fit them?? i dont have the money for a sound system, i'm too concerned with the performance of my car.. i'm quite happy with my infinity's.. when the time comes, i'll put somethin in there thats not ridiculously loud but sounds good.. i won't be buying audio shit so its loud, i'll want it to sound good

Cutting and trimming. I also had to mount that damn circuit board to the inside of the door. I used some screws and mounted the speaker to the door panel. Kinda rigged, but it sounds good.

wow s13 wanabe 2,000 on home audio is nothing "baller"....wow your right you are the wrong one to mess with. Hell you can spend 2000 at best buy.....go figure, pick up a home audio magazine sometime you'll see that just your base floor speakers can range at that price. Now my home speakers are old as shit but they cost 1g at the time i bought them. That was just for tweets, mid range, and 15 inch subs. All in two seperate 4ft enclosure's with two 3 inch port holes in each box. Those alone pound out the house(and sound clear as fuck as they have cross overs too), now if i was to go spend another 5g's on a good surround sound with lets say a 10 inch sub box that would be like a friggin movie theatre in my house...but unfortunately i careless about audio now....im more focused on my car and turboing it. Now my car sub blows my house stereo away, for real that thing is a top notch sub. I tried to hook it in to my house stereo but it kicks the amp out. Draws mass amounts of power. Trust me ill pwn you when it comes to audio, not trying to brag either, i just grew up with the right friends on audio and have learned over the years. But im sure your set up sounds good if its in your room, but put in a bigger room and you'll notice a vast difference.

Well considering I'm a Manager of a movie theatre, and I work on the theatre sound systems all the time, you can now be put in your place. I also payed $2,000 about 1 1/2 years ago, from a friend of mine with a shady hook up. It's about a $7,000 setup + or - $500. I also have a good friend who works in the Magnolia department at Best Buy. He installs the surround sound and sells it. He is even impressed with my system in my room. I also have a 53" HDTV hooked up to it. Trust me, I know my shit. If I don't know something, I have many friends who do.

Ah, I just got lucky. I have a decent job too. I got my TV for $500 and it's a $2,200 TV. My friend who works at Best Buy sold it to me because he's getting a 63". It's almost one year old. Having all this stuff is OK until I realize I've spent $2,500 on it, that could have gone into my car. At least I'll have it when I move out though.
