What a morning.

this morning, at about 7:20, i was driving to school and the back end of 2000 gmc seirra started fishtailing for absolutely no reason on the ice. i was not only going in a strait direction, i was only going 45. i assume i didnt have enough weight in the back, because without any turning of the wheel or application of the breaks i started spinning and by the time i jammed on the breaks and tried to correct, i was across the midline aproaching the opposite side. i hit the ditch sideways, facing the opposite direction i had come, and then proceeded in tipping the truck which was then followed by a series of 4 rolls. sigh, anyway i survived, and fortunatly have full coverage. i am glad i wasnt driving the z, but after thinking about it, do you guys think it would have even happened had i been driving the nissan? i had another passenger with me, and the truck has 4wd (ALTHOUGH, it was actually in 2wd at the time) anyway, what do you think?

oh, by the way guys.... drive safely, the road looked dry to me, but apparently there was enough ice on it for this to happen. luckily i was wearing a seatbelt, so after the truck came to rest, i was able to roll, yes roll, the unbroken drivers side window down and climb out the side (now the top, considering the car was on its side). seriously, don't under estimate what can happen at low speeds, one second i am driving on a strait road, the next i am being held in the air by my seatbelt.

Sorry to hear about that. I'd imagine that the Z would have taken the slide alot better, but my Z won't see snow or ice so i don't know.

yeah, the z WAS away for the winter, now its back in action until the seirra is fixed. there is no snow here on the ground yet and i dont think they've actually started salting the roads. they did put sand on that road but not until 745!!! its about a mile long stretch of road (spd limit 45) and there were 4 car accidents that morning on it until the fucking truck showed up after everyones already started going to school and work.

Last winter, my Z was a nightmare to drive in even small amounts of snow. I used to have a standard cab S-10 back in the day, and I had no probs getting around in it as long as I had about 100lbs between the wheel wells.
Good luck with the Z . . . its a good time to practice your drifting :D
