I have a 1992 Jeep cherokee Laredo...it has power locks and i was wondering how easy or hard it was to install keyless entry...would it be better to get it done or is it something anyone can do...and if i can do what would be a good kit to buy?

You can go overboard on features real easily. Did an Audiovox unit in my '88. I'm using only about half of the features available. Unit cost $50 at AutoZone. Hardest part was sorting out the Jeep's wiring. Other than that, a few splices, some velcro and viola!

Have a 92 laredo, power everything... also supposed to have keyless but that disappeared long before I ever found it... If you have a fuul overhead console, look around directly between the map lights, there is a little bulb type deal in the console that is an infrared reciever for the early systems. Suggestion, just get a new system as you have to go to unbelievable ends to find the original style of transmitter and being infrared makes it like a tv, have to be in l.o.s. for it to even work where the new ones are rf
