Actually, yes. Nakazato (drives the R32 in the series) fitted his R32 with a bigger slug for a crapload of power (before the series started), so with enough points in the game, you will get a Turbo upgrade. My brother drives an R32 in the game, and he just got the upgrade himself.

Note that this naturally will make it faster in the early courses, but will hamper it on courses like Happougahara and Nikko Irohazaka. Not enough to really screw you up, but my FD3SI whipped the sh*t out of it 10 out of 10 times on those two courses.

So it's a double edged sword, but that's what you get for so much horsepower...

AND you get a nifty NightKids sticker for 5% increased acceleration! Yay! :iceslolan

Is that turbo upgrade the same with all the options? I have one myself and I'm nearing an inspection so just wondering...

So far as I know, only the A Tune Skyline R32 gets the turbo upgrade. It jumps the car from 350hp to about 385hp.

how the hell do you know how much hp a car has?

I read the books. I also know a lot about the cars via technical manuals.

But don't take my word for it. Duh den den! :grinyes:

no.. i mean in the game. you said the a-tune skyline jumps from 350-385 hp. a-tune skyline being the keywords.

Well, seeing as the game vaguely follows the series, it's just my best guess. Nakazato ups the turbo in the series, and the A-Tune Skyline R32 is "Nakazato Type", so it's just a guess. All you should really care about is the fact that you will get a significant power increase.

all cars recieve significant power increases through the process of tuning... its not JUST the turbo. i was just curious how you would know the hp, that's all.

Aerowitz

Yes, but you'll get more power than the other tuning options for the Skyline R32.

duluth2006

prove it. even if it does recieve "more power" its not that much "more" tunes are pretty much even. even if you get the ideal parts for each car it won't help your time more than .1 (meaning its useually less than .1)

What the hell do you want out of me?! Must I make you a flowchart of every detail of the cars just to please you?

Maybe it does only shake .1 off your records. All I know is that my brother's car got a little quicker against me when he got that upgrade. Oh wait. I guess that's not enough proof for you, is it? Well, tough shit. I'm not lugging a video rig into the arcade just to satisfy one whiner.

.1 is good enough to give you a better start up or around there because lets say your going 144 and someone is going 145 your only gaining .1 meter per second. Im not too sure but my math may be off but isnt that the equivilant to .1 seconds or around there? Did your brother get better times or did he beat you off the start?

Aerowitz

He got much better times on most courses after the upgrade. Seeing as the Skyline wasn't built for Happougahara or Nikko Irohazaka, his times were a only a little better.

Eh. Im not disagreeing with you but I beg to differ. People can just get better you know? I mean its possible to get really good times with a stock car if the right person is driving. You know? It would be easier if I could JUST believe you but. Cant. Sorry. Not calling you a liar. But parts do make cars a little better. Who knows if he did the same before he had the part and after he did better. I mean if he did the same both times but the part made him a little faster. It wouldnt be too sure.

Aerowitz

His Skyline is faster than my B-Tune. We both have them at around the same points, so I'm guessing his got more power at one point or another whereas mine did not. For the last goddamn time, it's just a guess because of the series!

what stage were you playing?

We did Myogi, Usui, Akagi, and then an Akina run. All on dry roads in the daytime.
