Im thinking about buying a Impreza WRX or the top model STi but have some questions. I've got about 11 grand to put down on one, part as a down payment and part as payments til i can get on a scheduale. How much would be resonable to put down?. Also, the interior on both i love, same with the looks but i want the most power i can have. Is it worth it to buy the STi? It would be an 05'. Also, i heard in AWD cars there is a powerloss at high speeds. How much would i be loosing? And, is there a way to stop it? I heard there was something like that in the 05's coming.

ide say drop like 8 grand on the sti, u could get a rex and upgrade it to be as fast, but its less things you have to worry about and its already fast from the box, and as for the lack of high speed, a buddy of mine has got an sti and it took me no time to hit the top speed, prolly like a half mile or so, (142 in case u didnt know), so i wouldnt be to worried about that

Yeah thats true. But, if racing from a 50 mph roll, wouldnt i be loosing speed cause its AWD and not FWD? In the quarter mile of course its hair raising fast but if i was to race someone from that speed isnt there a powerloss? It not being fast as from a dead stop. Thats what i heard.

:eek7: I'd like to know, too.

Also, the STi's top speed is limited at 155 MPH, not 142, and it takes more than 1/2 mile to get there. At Mosport, I was hitting about 135 at the end of the back straight, which is 3/4 mile long and you come on to at about 40 MPH.
