1995 blazer 4dr 4wd w engine. my SES light came on today so i plugged in the scanner. P0341 camshaft position sensor A. bank 1. i went to chevy and bought the new sensor becaue the local auto parts stores didnt have them. question is... where is the darn thing in my car? my guess is under the distributer cap. but that is only a guess. any info on how to change it would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Down at the bottom of the timing cover. If you are facing the engine from the front it's at seven o'clock. 1 10mm bolt holding it in. When you pull it make sure there is a pan under it because you will loose a little oil.

are you sure you are thinking about the camshaft positioning sensor? i just went on the computer and found a diagram of the engine. it shows it under the distributor like i said. it has 4 screws holding it to the distributor cap.

Do you have a side mount or top mount distributor? (to your spark plug wires go into the side or to the top?)

Actually you have the better distributor. The crank position sensor for our versions of the 95 engine (and up to current) have the sensor mounted in the timing cover. They may have given you an ignition module for the HEI distributor instead (top post mount) The crank sensor is round with a 14" cable on it that plugs up towards the top of the engine. If they gave you a flat 2" wide module that's for the older HEI distributors which you don't have.

The yellow circle shows the crank position sensor for our partricular 95's. This is my new engine prior to install in the truck It's upside down on a stand. Note the sensor is at seven o'clock on the timing cover.

Oops, my bad, thought you were talking crank sensor...remove screw on either side of the dist cap, pull the cap... you will see 2 small screws holding down the rotor, remove those and pull the rotor..(good time to replace both if you've never done that) and it will be under there
