GTP will not stay running

I have a 1999 GTP. I was coming home a few days ago and the car died right before I pulled in the driveway (I coasted in). but the problem is that when I start the car it starts fine but when it idles down the engine dies. I can repeat the process as many times as i want. It will stay running if I give it gas by repeatedly jabing the throttle, if I try to maintain any certain rpm it will die. Any help? The car won't move because it won't stay running. :confused:
I have tried to read thru the posts on this page and many others but didn't see any that were the same problem.
