what are the right steps to replace the bulb on the drivers side without pulling the whole from clip off? There has to be an easy way. Thanks ahead, for my girlfriend.

What do you mean by pulling the whole clip off? It's fairly easy as it is. Remove the plastic shield that sits under the hood and on top of the grille, lift the two "quick clips," and slide out the headlamp assembly. Other than doing it that way, it's impossible to get back there.

I have removed the plastic shield , but I can't see what tabs they are talking about. The only thing that I thought might be the tabs don't seem to release and i don't want to break anything. HELP

I'm having the exact same problem. I remove the plastic cover see two clips and they don't budge. It looks like you need to remove two screws in order to remove the assembly. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

You need a good pair of pliers, a medium flathead screwdriver and patience.
The plastic shield is attached by two pull pins and the side loosely hooks under the fender. The pull pins are a two piece unit. Just grab the round raised portion in the middle of the pin unit and pull up. It doesn't matter if it looks like you pulled it right out. If it does, you can pop the washer/clip portion out without damaging it. A perfect lift allows the whole clip section to come out completely. Once you have the the two pull pins on the driver side out, you can manoever the shield to allow you access to the retaining clips. They are two flat angle pieces with holes in the centre. The fender side clip goes around the white plastic adjuster screw/bolt.
The retaining clip towards the centre of the engine compartment slides out completely. Just grab it with pliers and pull straight up. The clip on the fender side does not slide out completely, so be more cautious. Lift it up about an inch and the headlight unit can be slid out towards the bumper.

Turn the screw knob for the bulb assembly and pull the bulb out. Now comes the tricky part. The electrical connection is held in place with a blue two pronged tension connector. Gently slide the screwdriver under the two blue prongs and place gentle pressure so that you can finesse the electrical connector off the bulb. This is an expensive replacement part, so if you can't do it with finesse let someone do it at a garage. Once the connector is off, replace the bulb (without touching the glass)...don't forget to put the screw knob back on before you connect the electrical plug to the bulb...and go ahead for re-assembly.

The only ugly part was getting the fender side retaining clip back in place. It was tight, but an extra set of hands gently applying pressure on the headlight assembly and a few gentle taps with a hammer took care of it. Slide the plastic shield in place, replace the clips and you are done.
