95 Weird Transmission Problem

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone could help me figure out whats wrong with my lil Cavy...... Last night a friend took it to the store, and it switched gears just fine, till they got to the end of the street. Then it wouldn't go into 2nd, 4th, or reverse. yet it went into 1st 3rd and 5th just fine. so they brought it back and i tried to change into 2nd. But when I did it felt like there weren't any gears there at all. Which is very weird. So I turned the car off for a minute and started it again. And it went back to shifting just like normal. I'm afraid to drive it, but i have to get it fixed. Does anyone have any clue what this might be and if so how much it will cost?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! =0)

Check the fluid in your clutch resovoir... low or empty fuel will cause hard shifting or won't let it go into a gear.

well we've looked at it and now we believe its the linkage or something like that,i'm not sure thought. anyone have any ideas about how much it cost with labor??
