I hate deer

12:34 am. 11-17-04. Hit a deer doing 90 on 563. Looks fixable, I hope. Drove my car home overheating the whole way about 5 miles. I'll get pics tomorrow. Only thing that worries me is the fender is pulled in toward the engine bay. I hate my life.

I've done that twice, once with my old car, and once with my current yellow on. Luckily with the yellow one all it did was shatter the clear corner and dent the front part of the fender. But I know how you feel - DAMN DEER, these are our roads.

Hope you didnt bend the front of it in, sounds like you did though if the fender is pulled tward the engine. If you did you might as well not try to fix it yourself.

If I ever hit a deer, I would take up hunting. I would buy the most powerful rifle that I could find and just go out and kill as many of them as possible.

damn man i feel ur pain with the damage, just got done fixing my car. I never hit a deer but have come close like 2 or 3 times.

Update on the situation.

My uncle and I both think its fixable, and a buddy of his used to own a body shop and he said he'd be able to help if needed. The front end is being pulled off as you read this, and I'm also pulling the motor out as well. Bastard deer broke my radiator, JB weld should fix it until i get a new one, i hope.

So now that this has happened the b16 swap has gotten bumped ahead of schedule. And I think a big fucking hammer will take care of the pushed in fender. Pics will be posted tonight.

I hit a deer when I was 16 in my 86 accord lxi going like 80 at night..smashed up the hood and radiator real bad..BUT ever since then I don't drive over 60 at night and I always lean over the wheel like a old granny w/ my foot hovering over the brake if I see the little bastards! Hope you get your car fixed up soon.

Yeah, I still remember that from drivers ed like 3 years ago. Now that I think about it, it's like the only thing I remember from it. Michigan is one of those states. It just goes to show how pointless it was for me.

Ouch, but considering the fact that you were going like 90 mph, it doesn't look that bad. My dad hit a deer at 75 and it looked a lot worse

Yeah I dunno what happened to the deer to tell you all the truth. I didn't even stop after I hit it. All that passed through my mind was "OMG my car is fucked" and I just coasted till about 70 mph when I finally could pull myself together.

The worst part of it is my fender is pulled in toward the engine bay about a half inch, so im thinking either a sledge or someone sudjested using a comealong and a tree. So I might end up driving around a crooked car for a bit until its totally straight.

Right now I'm focusing on pulling the motor, I had a hell of the time with my axles, took me about 90 minutes to get them out, I had to take apart my entire hub assembly and pull my shocks off as well since I couldn't get the axle nut off. And also the axles that came with my swap still have the hubs attached so Im not going to bother trying to get the nut off of those too.

And I'm also taking pictures as I go, so a b16 swap write up will be posted up once I'm done.

for once i can say i wasn't sick....i went to SEMA bay-be :ylsuper:

Car is coming along just fine, Greg. As you can see from my other post my swap is almost done. Now its just banging out that fender and putting the front end back on.
